Frakkin awesome. I am really into this rendering. I've always hated the tights, short-shorts and bucaneer boots, so this version with the loose army style pants over combat boots is right up my alley. But don't despair, true believers, we will see Evans in the classic Cap uniform when he is a WWII USO mascot! Then, once he breaks away from mascot duty to become a hero, he creates this new costume that is more combat apropriate for a super soldier. I love it:

Well if that's going to be the movie's costume it sucks already. I'd even prefer the one in the old 1940's movie serials to that clown suit. What are the going to call the film Cap the Punisher?

Nice drawing, but I hope that's not what he wears in the movie. I want it more traditional. Keep it classic so it will stay fun above all else. Please make it fun. __________________

O.k. that is so not the Cap Costume.
First off, nothing about it is period. Cap is a Fourties Soldier, anything he wears should be a call back to that, not something with an ultra modern flare.
Secondly, those long pants, completely inappropriate for a war zone. You don't want loose cloth you can trip on.
Thirdly, we've been told, Cap starts out in a very traditional cap uniform. Then hides it under traditional army garp to go adventuring.
He winds up in a uniform that is a combination of the two.
Also, what's with the logan scratches on the Shield?
Now don't get me wrong I actually like that uniform design if they were doing an update or an ultimates thing. But it is not right for a fourties Cap. He could put on something like that in the Avengers film, but not in the original film.

Cap Writer: What exactly is awesome about this costume in that drawing? I almost threw up in my mouth. What is that?? My 5 year old niece can draw something better.
I highly doubt that's the costume anyway. If by a longshot, it is, then this movie has FAIL written all over it.

Looks like a repaint of the Daredevil movie costume. I prefer it to the other Cap costume posted but it still looks like a motocross outfit. I'm sure it will turn out good. __________________

That first picture is ridiculous and that oufit has no tactical benefit to it whatsoever. Cap is going to war not a fashion show... Besides that thing makes him look fat.
The photo of Evans looks awesome! That just proves that the uniform can definitely be taken very seriously by non-Cap fans if done correctly. I have a feeling that he will make a good Cap!
Stay optimistic guys.... Marvel knows what they are doing and they need this movie to sell. And I can'y freakin' wait!
Hey PSSchmucker.... maybe they could use you costume from your pic.... It looks like a good one!

What the hell?
"No Tactical Benfit"
"WTF"
Holy crap!!!You guys HAVE NO TASTE
This is a costume. This would be perfect. It looks so bad ass, THIS is a Cap costume.
Like I said, this shows that Cap is soldier ready kick some Nazis back to BERLIN!!!
I mean come on!
"Cap's going to war not a fasion show"
How in the HELL is this a fashion show costume.
This makes Cap look AWESOME!!!!Geez, first your hatin' WWII ultimates version now this?
This gives him the rusty TRUE WWII Cap that he is.
IT'S SOOOOOOOOOOOO AWESOME!!!!! GAHHH I need this to be in the movie!!!!!
He's got aresnal, dog tags, pads, a beat up shield... this is the one I've been looking for!!!!
Hatin' on the stuff that makes Cap cool...that deserves a WTF?!?!
The tights, all the bright colors make it ANNOYING. CAp is a soldier not some guy that wears tights. THE TIGHTS NEED TO GO!!!!
He needs to dress up like a soldier, not a Stan Lee fansty that if you put the cassical suit on, it'll make him look just plain dumb and cheesy.
Jeez, MAN!!! I don't even get you anymore, I don't understand why I even talk here if every idea that seems cool you shoot down by putting up some cheesy one. Cap needs the arsenal to fight war, not rune around in tights a happy and frocilly in tights.
Awesome job Cap Writer.

...but...but...Cap is a Stan Lee fantasy
...I think Cap looks good in ...cheesy tights
...I don't like that Wolverine's modern day costume is a wife beater
...bright colors make me happy particularly red, white and blue
...

We all know that the Powers-that-be are throwing out preliminary designs or rumors to guage our responses and reactions. Its us that's been bugging Marvel and the movie people to make a Captain America movie (A GOOD MOVIE this time) the last 2 decades.
So someone jazzed up the Daredevil costume for the Cap image with Chris Evans' head on it. It's showing that we love and want the original costume (Willing to put up with some minor alterations). Plus, I'm hoping our rants and suggestions would help make a good Cap movie. Wizard mag dumped Nic Cage's head on Chris Reeve's Superman body.
So I don't like Chris Evans, but it's their job to sell me and the public, him as Captain America. So, make a good movie, action, good lines, action and good film making, etc, etc.

Can't tell if you were joking but Cap was created by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby. Stan had nothing to do with the creation of the character. He did write for the comic starting with issue #3. but again I don't know if there was some sarcasm in your post. __________________

Here's a few manips I made of Cap and Evans. Sorry for the big post.
My ideal costume is Ultimate WWII during wartime, Kirby style with scale mail and triangular shield at the USO shows and a mix of 616 and Ultimates with a Stark built round shield in modern times.

Edit the wings, and your good.
I realize that I want Cap a Punisher hell bound soldier. Unfortunatley, thats not who he is.
So last night I sketched out soldier,
Like this-
(Used body and helmet for a start) and took it from there, a different Cap, not Steve, not bucky, soemone NEW, that I like. Sorta a rip off from Cap Writer's version and this-

I'd want something liked that, but you gotta maybe change up the costume a bit. Otherwise I'm sold.
