CBR is reporting that Sean McKeever, who writes the NOMAD backup in the Cap book, has a NEW Young Allies book in the works.

YOUNG ALLIES was originally a Captain America spin-off that debuted during the Summer of 1941 with sidekicks Bucky and Toro teaming up with some other kids to take on such heavies like the Red Skull in the first issue (although the stories tended to be lighter in tone).

For the 70th anniversary of Timely Comics last year, Marvel did do a Young Allies one-shot with Bucky revisiting his old companions for one last goodbye. The issue also cleaned up some of the racial stereotypes used in the old run.

However, this new series features a new line up with Nomad (Rikki Barnes), a "new" Toro, Firestar, and others. It seems to be a new direction with no links to the past group.

Personally, I might pass on this one. MCKeever's work on TEEN TITANS wasn't too good and his NOMAD mini was a whole lot of "meh". If you all are reading the back up in the Cap book, you can make up your own mind. And I'd rather see Firestar back with the New Warriors for a new book.

I personally liked the Nomad story, and have liked most everything with Rikki Barnes to date.

I will be picking up the book, especially since I really loved the original Niciez book.
