Opportunists!

Surely, this is great news for Marvel and might cause them to go back to the presses.
Fortunately, as Cap fans, we already got our issue, right?

The question is, if they go back to reprint it, will they make the changes like they planned for the trade?

Make the changes and people will be disappointed for buying a "non-confrontational censored" issue, Marvel looks like it has caved, and we could possibly be seeing censorship in a Captain America book, of all things. (Only censorship if it really is as Brubaker intended and they are fibbing on the explanation).

Don't make the changes and Marvel looks like they are capitalizing on the mess despite the public apology that it was unintended by Bru and done on the production/lettering side.

Probably their best plan would be to not reprint it except for trades since it was a given that this will be traded anyway.

you know what, i thought it looked funny and i even did a double take when i read it a few weeks ago but now that i see it again, that's pretty funny.

One of those moments that I wonder if they did it on purpose to generate press so they could get attention to Cap in light of the coming movie.

Too early for the movie. They were affective with the Death of Cap event and the press. This past summer, they tried to replicate the buzz with Reborn and Steve's return but it was such a non-event. Seriously, shipping early on Monday (some stores that were closed that day opened) all for REBORN #1?? As comic readers, we all knew Steve was coming back eventually.

Did it ever get pulled? I saw it everywhere...
Posted:  12 Feb 2010 20:33
They didn't pull it, but future issues will not have the offending sign, and the TPB will not have it either.

Which is why it is selling, it is an automatic collectors items since only the first run had the offending sign. I may have to put mine up on EBay since I've already read it.

Suckers!

I don't think I'll bother with it but I'd do it. If there are people out there so willing to give out free money I'll get in line.

I don't care if I got that version or the corrected one.

Went to my local comic shop and picked up 5 copies. Almost cleaned them out. Lol.
