I copied and pasted it;

The Hero Complex is reporting David Scarpa (The Day the Earth Stood Still) has been hired to write the reboot of Daredevil at the 20th Century Fox affiliated production company New Regency.  While rumors of Fox wanting to reboot Daredevil were online last year, this is the first news about anyone being hired.  While I’d love to say I’m excited by this hiring…I’m not.  More after the jump:

In case you’re unaware, Fox owns the rights to Daredevil, X-Men, and Silver Surfer as long as they continue to keep them in active development (or make movies).  With the worldwide popularity of comic book films, it’s a sure bet Fox will never let the rights revert back to Marvel.

Therefore, Fox has to keep Daredevil moving forward, so they’ve hired someone with minimal movie experience to write the reboot of Matt Murdock.

As I said, I’m not excited by this hire.  At all.  Daredevil is a great Marvel character and one that deserves to be treated with dignity and respect.  What Fox needs to do is hire a great director and have that person work with a writer to shape and design a film (or films) that everyone will be excited to see.

They need to take the road Warner Bros. did with Christopher Nolan on Batman.  Or like Marvel did with Jon Favreau on Iron Man.

Until Fox decides to hire a real filmmaker, I just can’t be excited, as the last few superhero movies made at Fox have let me down.

Also, according to the Hero Complex, former News Corp. executive Peter Chernin will produce the project and David Scarpa has been given the freedom to reinterpret plot points and character nuance.  Meaning, he can ignore what he wants to from the Mark Steven Johnson version from 2003.  That’s the best news of the night.

I wish with the movies that are out now or that will be out that there would be some type of continuity unless the previous batch of movies were really screwed up.  For example, I'm a huge fan of the Highlander movies, but after the first one which should have been the last, they butchered the rest and there was really no continuity.  Events need to go somewhere and meet up to tell the whole story weather that links to 1 or 2 previous movies.

I liked the original DD, even though it was a bit cheesy and Kingpin and Bullseye were...odd, but a reboot could be a good thing, if they read a couple of comics. This is where the industry pisses me off. They hire people to write this stuff who have read nothing comic book wise since childhood, and thats usually how they write it, by what they remember. Sort of like fans of the Spider-man cartoon acting like they know all things Spidey just cause they watched a cartoon...even though cartoons sometimes go their own directions. I dunno, i`ve wanted to say that a while. I hope this guy reads some books before writing it, leave out Elektra, unless they do her right, and bring in a villian more interesting or make Bullseye the comic book version. We`ll just have to wait and see.

Daredevil is a really cool character.  However, I think the first movie was terrible and completely cheesy.  It was everything that people would stereotype a comicbook movie to be.  Ben Affleck didn't help the situation at all either.  He was terrible.  The key to judging a good comic book movie is how it is received by non-comic fans.... and cheesy doesn't help that cause.  All of the new movies have been outstanding for us, as fans, and have also drawn in the general public (Iron Man, Hulk, Wolverine, Batman).  My wife is not a comic book fan at all and she found all of the above movies to be very interesting and entertaining.  Daredevil.... not so much.  Anyway lets hope Cap follows the recent string of movies.  As for Daredevil, don't get too excited.  It doesn't sound like they are very serious about making a movie, only trying to retain the rights.

I'm praying for Cap to be good! I liked the X-men movies but was disapointed that Knightcrawler was only in the one! Out of all the X-men movies IMO, he was the best character. Daredevil was cheesey and hope if they do the reboot it does the charcter justice.

Daredevil does desverve a reboot, he's like Batmab. They can make it work.
