The Batman franchise has been the biggest movies out so far. Heath Ledger shocked the world has a he completely devoted everything into making the best Joker possible.
You all know that his Joker was dark.
Little history:
Joker BEGAN as a psychopathic, mind controlling trickster. That is what Nolan did.
BUT since the new idea of a comical Joker, that became extremely popular, so they dropped the original one.
Nolan is said to be releasing a 3rd Batman in 2011. Will it be top like Dark Knight? Will it knock Cap down?
_________________________________________
Back to subject; here are some possible villains that'll probably be in 3rd one:
-Catwoman
-Riddler
-MAYBE Penguin
Here are the ones that I WANT to see in the 3rd one.
-Riddler
-Harley Quinn (Taking place of the Joker)
-Penguin
-And I want to see Two-Face again, he didn't get much in the Dark Knight.
What do you guys think?

Will it be top like Dark Knight?
Nope. Batman3 won't top the Dark Knight or make anywhere close to the 500 million bucks. Like all #3 movies, it'll just do very well but the general public or us won't like it, because we EXPECT IT TO TOP THE DARK KNIGHT, and it won't and we'll feel dissappointed and we won't like the movie. Blade3, Spidey3, Xmen3, all had good stories, but we expected them to be as good or better than 1 or 2.
Bad guys, ... Any of those characters appeal to you? I'm bored of the Catwoman/Batman villian-girlfriend relationship. Penguin, Riddler are still jokes, and Harley Quinn, ... wouldn't that be the Joker but a woman in that part??? Just like Spidey, after Ock and Osborn, none of Batty's badguys (Other than the Joker) are interesting or appealing enough to carry a movie.
I do have a suggestion, move Bats to the emotional level, since Begins and DK were 'intellectual' adventures, the emotional would be his 'redemption'. Losing his parents, sets up a crime fighting campaign in Begins, then losing it in DK, so 3 would go back to the 'losing his parents' emotion, and Bats redemption or solution to it.
Will it knock Cap down?
Back in the 80s it was like that, one movie better than the other, took all the money, example of competition, etc, ... now, Movie studios schedule movies 2 or 3 weeks apart to max gain profit and movie goers. May to August has low budget movies going up against Blockbuster, won't see Iron man and DK opening up in the same day. So, Cap comes out, makes its money in 2 or 3 weeks, then Batman3 comes out and takes all the money (Through it won't be good -- like Transformers2, made a lot of money, but wasn't a good movie)

I know they`re doing a third Batman, but honestly, the first one was a decent film, the second, if not for the Joker, would have sucked. I can`t help it, I just can`t stand DC material. I have nothing against it, I just never am interested, though the "New World Order" and "Kingdom Come" were two of the best story arcs EVER. Hopefully whoever is in the next one will do a good job...for what it is.

I agree that without the Joker, the 2nd batman sucked.
they always find it difficult to make Batman a sympathetic character. I liked it when Brucey in 2nd film was in Bruce Wayne character trying to save Gordon with Batman tactics. That help to humanize him quite a bit.
Wanna make it interesting? bring on a trio of sick characters played by unexpected actors.
how about adam west as cgi killer croc? How about clayface played by burt reynolds? (he's already looking like clay!!!) How about the ventriloquist, played by with vern troyer as scarface and lady gaga as peyton riley?
of course i'm only being ridiculous, but it's the villains that make batman, so the more ridiculous the better.
And would it be too far beyond good taste to have a cgi enhanced joker make a return with Harley Quinn?
gotta get crazy if they want this franchise to survive.

Did Joker Die at the end of the last Movie...some part of me wants to say he didn't.
So the character is still there even without heath Ledger.
That being said, I'm going to just put my pitch out there once again that the villain in the third film should be the Penguin.
And you make the story interesting by suggesting that the Penguin is the revers of the batman coin. That like batman he's the child of privledge who loses his father (perhaps to organized crime, just needs a little retcon there) but instead of being raised by wise and kind Alfred, he's raised by a mentally unhinged mother who smothers him (until perhaps he somthers her). You then have him returning to Gotham to reclaim his fortune and bring crime in Gotham under control (by Controlling all Crime).
It could work, but what ever they do they have to connect Batman to the villain on a personal level. What makes Batman great is always the villains he faces more than the man himself. What makes the movies great is when they tie the villains emotionally to Batman so that there is tension between the two characters as they fight.
You want to do something other than the penguine. You have Bruce develop a relationship with Dr. Harley Quinzell as she takes over running Archam, and then is slowly warped in mind by the Joker.
It's a retcon sure, but it gives an emotional depth to the story they will tell with the characters.

Harley Quinn, Penguin, and Riddler.
Obviously there is going to alot pf conversty over continuing the franchise without concluding what happened to the Joker, and going without Heath, I loved the Joker, new story, new smile, everything. I agree with you guys, Penguin's the way to go.
Batman 3; hopefully Nolan won't get wrapped up in fortune and fame and make the movie complete CRAP.
Another thing, I hope SOMEONE has the guts to say to Bale that he's taking his Bat voice a little to far...
If by chance Bats 3 comes out in 011 then, they need to get back to the Begins style. Why? Dark Knight is a crime, gang, mobster movie, if you haven't noticed. They had to do that because that's how the Joker fits in, ripping off mob dealers to get Batman's attention.
Personally, don't make Penguin live on an ice berg and all that.
Here's my idea:
Have Penguin be part of a rising mob.
Only have Him waddle like a Penguin.
Keep his orginal suit.
Have him like 2 face, no hesitation on killing, either answer or...

I'd prefer the riddler for a Batman3 movie. Make him more of a subtly insane man who speaks in riddles for everything. Sort of like Yoda talking backwards.
Make it so people think he's crazy, but really he's five steps ahead of everyone and more evil and sadistic than the Joker. Lose the crazy laugh except at the end, maybe. That way he'd come across far more dangerous than Jim Carey or any other one. __________________

What one Carrey in? Anyway, Carrey is Carrey. He's a comedian, not a dark hellbent man who wants you suffer with complicated puzzles, riddles and mazes. Tommy Lee, was a good 2 face but, he was trying to hard and ended up taking an dark killer that leaves life up to chance to a Joker that has 2 faces.
That was just bad casting.
Another thing is scarecrow, he was in both Batman movies. Will he be in the next? And what does happen to the Joker? If Batman took the blame for Dent's action, how will he fufill making himself a hero again?
What I don't understand is how the Joker did alot of things the Riddler does, make Batman choose between Rachel and Dent.
Back to Riddler, Depp, Carrey, cross them out. You need someone that knows how to take a happy face, to an evil, hating, but smart Riddler. Something like that.

Batman forever, Val Kilmer as Batman and Jim Carrey as the Riddler, with Tommy Lee Jones as Two-face, Chris O'Donnel as Robin, and former-Mrs-Cruise-escapee-of-Scientology Nicole Kidman.
See if you can watch this thing without cringing, Kidman was glamorous--only thing I remember or want to remember from this thing, plus my nephew who was 7 at the time liked it.
Like the Ultimate universe began looking like reworking the Marvel universe, the Batman movie franchise is doing likewise, whereas the 90s Bat movies reflected the 60s with an updated take in dialogue, special effects, look, etc, ... if they go with Penguin, Riddler, Catwoman, etc., the new 'dramatic' and intellectual take at fighting crime will be doing the same.
Killer Croc is a great idea, providing that Croc should look scary, adding some 'horror' element to the Bat universe.

"Blade3, Spidey3, Xmen3, all had good stories,"
What strange planet are you from Vincent? lol
All three were terrible movies and cashcows to their respective franchises.
Anyhow Batman3 will probably do better than Captain America just because Batman is a more high profile character. The story will probably suck, but that won't stop people from seeing it. Just like X-men:Origins Wolverine which I saw because there wasn't anything else to watch at the time(which was strangely better than X3:Last Stand whose only highlight was Kelsey Grammer as Beast and the Juggernaut's one liners.) __________________"--When the mob and the Press and the whole WORLD tell you to move, your job is to plant yourself like a tree beside the river of truth and tell the whole world 'No you move'."

I consider Batman4 the worst of the lot.
At least those movies I mentioned wasn't as bad as Catwoman, Elektra (Shame, I liked Jennifer Garner), 90s Cap, 90s FF, all Punisher movies, Spawn, Batman 2 and 3, Superman 3, 4, Returns, Barb Wire, Men in Black 2, V for Vendetta, ...
I'm kind of iffy on Ghost Rider, through those demons were so campy and silly, I sort of liked the bikes and Nic Cage crashing into the boards.

Very true, all those movies suck worse than the ones you previously provided. __________________"--When the mob and the Press and the whole WORLD tell you to move, your job is to plant yourself like a tree beside the river of truth and tell the whole world 'No you move'."

Ghost Rider should have been "R", should have been more horror violence instead of stupid comments.
Xmen 3 was pointless.
I liked Jane's Punisher.
Without the Joker Bats 3 will pronqly go down if you know what I mean.

I think it was Siskel and Ebert's review of Lethal Weapon 3, one of them said there were 3 good scenes and they were good enough to recommend the movie for the mass audience.
Today, is the movie good enough to go out of your way to a theatre, spend the ticket price and buy the overpriced food? Is there a person or scene that was very cool to watch? That's how I rate the movie. Catwoman wasn't that bad because I didn't go out to the theatre to see that movie, just spent a Saturday afternoon watching it on tv (Except for Steel, twice it was on tv, and twice I couldn't sit through watching it all). Batman and Robin (Batman4), Spawn, Men in Black 2, I paid to see them, and they sucked. I even saw Endless Love with Brooke Shield, ...and she had a body double to do her nude scenes??!!
Xmen3--mutants blowing up, Alcatraz blowing up, cars blowing up, Magneto ripping out that bridge and Rebecca Romyn almost nude scene--worth it.
