He needs to work out. Anybody doing as many action movies as him shouldn't have wet noodles for arms. Glad to hear he is a fan though.

I'm wondering if they are putting these things out as orchestrated efforts to gauge fan response...like the "leak" that Chris O'Donnel had the part (which I thought might work).

Chris O'Donnel was leaked for CAP, or back before he got Robin? Besides, he's busy with NCIS: LA.

It might be the actor and their agent leaking them to gauge Marvel's response and get their attention.

O'Donnell was allegedly leaked a few months ago as having the Cap role, but it was likely just an internet rumor.

I would agree that it would more likely be an agent's gimmick to get attention to their client. Even this stuff with Sam Worthington is likely at the behest of his agent. All the agents know is this is a major tent-pole film with tons of buzz and a mysterious short list of actors. As long as there's a chance their client can get the role, they'll have them swear their allegiance to Captain America fandom and wear Avengers and Captain America T-shirts till the end.

I think pretty much everyone and their sister has been "leaked" at this point for the Roll of Cap.

I personally have nothing against an Austrailian playing cap, but I think this is just more idyl speculation.

As far as I know there isn't even a finished Script yet, Since any good actor (give Cap's track record and complex history) would want to see a script before officially committing.

I think there is a short list somewhere and some people whose agent's have been contacted, but no one is going to even want to be putting hints out there for real until a first draft is being handed around.

Atleast that's my thought on it.  You might see someone on the strength of the writing team, but I'd expect the director wants the script first, and then will cast to that.

Afterall, if the scripts got more steve than cap that's something you have to take into account in the casting, especially if you do a bunch of steve before the serum scenes.

I just saw Avatar, and I thought Sam Worthington would be perfect for Captain America.  He looked pretty big and muscular, they must've CGIed his weak legs.  Worthington looked similar to Ewan McGreggor.  After Avatar, I don't see why he would want to do Cap, he would be playing the same character, fearless, change from a weak, frail person to an inspirational leader, going into war, etc.

I don`t know about that one. Avatar was one of the best films of the year, and a real kick in the face in 3d but I`m not a big fan of this guy. I liked him in Terminator and think he may do well in Clash of the Titans, but I still say that the man in blue should be someone who is blonde, American all the way and not so well known. Maybe im a little biased but, hey, I only like a few things (Cap, Star Wars Star Trek,) and it means a lot to make the film RIGHT. Just my opinion.

I liked the new Terminator, must have been because of the over the top action and how they connected all the terminator movies together. It's surprising to me that I did like it as much as I did because I have started to like Christian Bale less and less the more I see him onscreen. Wasn't really too impressed with Worthington in Terminator either, but I am liking him more. Thought he was good in Avatar and it is nice to see fresh faces in starting roles. I don't think he'd be a great fit for CAP but considering the types of movies he's doing, I'm sure I'll watch in more films to come.
