Dell Rusk, I wish.
I'm really, really REALLY far away from the places where you can get CGC.
Unfortunately, where I live...Stan Lee with never visit.
But you know how it is.

Pole, you don't have to live anywhere near CGC or even any cons to get books signed.
Wait don't you live in NY?
Cause Dell Rusk is from there, as well as Cap's creator Joe Simon as well.
Even if you went to a con with Stan Lee there, it's HARD to even get close to him, much less get him to sign your books.
CGC contacts him and other artist and arange private signings, etc...
You just mail a CGC witness your comic books, and they can get it done for you.
Pretty easy, and really cool.
They use Fed Ex to ship the books back to you.

I remember the days when you could just walk up to Stan and talk to him and take his picture. I'm kicking myself for never doing that for Kirby.
I hate to say it but Joe Simon is up there in age so there isn't too many opportunities left. I did see him at Comic-Con back in 1998 but didn't get to talk with him directly. I so much prefer the personal contact and a picture over a signature. It is just a better experience for me.
That said, how much does something like this cost? I like Joe's signature and I should really get at least one book with his signature. I'm hoping the Cap movie is a smash and he's around to see it and gets more popular because of it. Maybe if he makes the New York Comic-Con again, it is worth a flight out. __________________

Hey Atomic-
I also do prefer to meet the artist/creator and get a photo with them. Sometimes that isn't possible though, so that's where the CGC SS label comes in. Hell, I get both if I can. (photo & CGC SS)
I have photos with Neal Adams, Stan Lee, Jim Lee, etc...
#1 on my list to get is Jim Steranko which has been tough. I've met him several times, got tons of sigs from him, had conversations with him, but so far no photo WITH him. That is probably my #1 goal this year. He will be in Pasadena in 2 months, and I hope he will be at SDCC. Hey if I see you there, maybe you can be my photographer Atomic!
As for a Joe Simon sig, right now it's about $25, added to the normal CGC rates for a book.
It depends on what book you are submitting.
Say you submit a modern book (1980-present) that would be $17 for the grading. Then add $25 for the Joe Simon sig.
Your CGC case will have a yellow label, which means it is the CGC signature series label and that's as authentic as you can get for a sig.
Now back to photos....
Dude Stan Lee is not getting any younger also.
IF you want a Stan Lee photo there is a GREAT opportunity coming up at the Wizard World Aneheim con.
http://www.wizardworld.com/home-anaheim.html
Stan Lee will be there and he is working with other celebs doing the Froggy's photos thing.
I think Stan's price is kinda high at $40.
Froggy's will take your photo with him and it will kinda have a Sears photo studio type background.
Here is the list for Froggy's at Anaheim...
I already have a few different photos with Stan in the past, but I wanna go get another. Those were the days when photos were free, lol.
I've never done this Froggy's photo op thing, and the price is up there, but I'm willing to try it once. Stan is getting up there in age, (87) how much longer will he be doing cons!?!?
Plus Kelly Hu the actress is there, she's freakin hot!
I might get her a photo with her too ha ha!
What am I saying!?!?
I gotta go take a cold shower.

Yeah, Stan is up there. But he seems to be in good shape (knock on wood!). Stan's the type that might make it to 100 years old.
Yes, Kelly Hu is a looker!
Sigh!
Oh, sorry!
He probably isn't cheap but I'd love to get a picture with Shatner. Meeting him is on my bucket list!
Mark Hamill was charging $100 for an autograph last year at WonderCon (discounted to $90 for the second one!) and that has really turned me off on overpriced celebrities lately. Now I understand supply and demand but some of us are still just fans and not eBay flippers. So at this year's WonderCon, I pretty much ignored all of the celebrities there except for Michael Chiklis. Lou Ferigno is pretty bad about the pay to snap a photo thing.
Steranko is an interesting cat. When I took pictures of him back at San Diego in 1998, I was told no pictures. Later, at WonderCon a few years ago, the guy from Vanguard explained that he's sensitive to light which is why he wears the sunglasses all the time. Steranko even told me no flash when I tried to take his picture (before Vanguard told me the story). So that is fine. I respect that. But then I still see flash photos of him with other creators so, I guess, the "rule" only applies sometimes.
Thanks for the information. Yes, if you see me, I can always take pictures.
I've been photographing more cosplayers lately because they WANT their picture taken and it is still free. The panels are becoming too much of a hassle.

Awesome WonderCon pics Atomic!!!
I looked at Shatners price for the photo op with him at Aneheim and he seems to be the highest price there at $75.
Yeah I remember Mark Hamill at WonderCon last year asking for $100 for a sig and no pictures were allowed! You would think for $100 he could at least pose with you also.
I don't think it was his idea though, more the company producing him and Carrie Fisher at the show.
Anyways, I caught Mark Hamill on his way to the bathroom and asked him for a photo. He was super cool about it, posed and everything with me.

I'm a huge fan of the Disney Zorro 50's TV series.
It's an awesome show!
Picked this up recently, next year it will make 50 years old and graded a 9.6!

Sam, did you see the Zorro cosplayer on Saturday at Comic-Con? He was really good and usually cosplays as the 1960s Batman (him and his wife are big fans). He was also the Phantom last year and some friends of his have also been cosplaying as classic movie serial characters like Captain Marvel or the Kirk Alyn Superman (black and white costume). I'm trying to convince them to do a Dick Purcell Cap next year.
If people want to see my San Diego Comic-Con photos for 2010, here is the link:

Warning! I have over 600 photos here and climbing. I'm still adding photos. __________________

Tim those are awesome!!
Did you get that McKone sketch from the CGC boards, it looks familiar like I seen it before.
It did come out nice, I mean wow real nice!
How about that Hulk 181, you gonna take a chance and have Trimpe sign it?
If it was mine, I don't think I would have the balls to do it. Not at a 9.0, it might come back 8.5!

So glad I bought my Hulk #181 in 1980 for only $15. Teenagers don't do too many smart things but that was one of my better moves. __________________

Nice Atomic!
Then again comics were like 40 cents in 1980, so $15 must have been pretty steep for a comic book in those days.
Smart move bro!!

No chance Sam! I have a couple of the German editions so I might get one of those signed by Herb. Yeah the Mckone is from the boards. I think it's such a clean sketch I couldn't pass it up. Would love a Cap sketch from him one day. __________________
