Yeah, I was watching this one myself. Didn't bid though. Definitely a grail.

amazingly, that shield and eagle is very much like the one used even today on police car decals

I've been on the losing end of vintage Cap auctions recently. First that 1941 pin, and earlier today I was trying to get the Captain Americar for my collection.
Got sniped at the very end though.

So was it one of you guys or what!?!?
LOL!

No although I do need one of those Mego cars. I do have the Mego Spider-man car and I'd almost consider a straight up trade for the Cap version (although mine is incomplete).

The "Made in China" on the America flag there, Sam, is both funny and kind of sad, really. And, while it is nice this came with the Cap figure, those gloves are not part of the original, of course.

I love the Megos and I'm fortunate that I've kept most of them from my childhood. They are making retro Megos for the Planet of the Apes and Star Trek figures now but I hope they do the superhero lines again.

I've been working on the Cap plastic Marx figures lately. 4 different colors so far with a 5th on the way. The other Marx products from the 1960s currently on EBay are just too pricey for me right now.

I managed to track down this year's Captain America Hallmark ornament. You can get them via EBay but your cheapest option is to seek out your closest Hallmark store. They've marked them down to half off (from $15 to $7.50) after Christmas now.

Saw this months ago, a Wal-Mart exclusive.
Retail for $28, ouch! I had to pass for that much.
Anyways I went to Wal-Mart Christmas clearence section and these are now there 50% off!
Just to let you guys know if you were looking for it....

You know, I just don't get out to Wal Mart much. And when I do, it seems the good toys are already cleared out. So I went the EBay route with the Skrull/Cap toy and $28 would have been a bargain!! I was afraid this would be one of the toys marked up to $60 at the next con.

Whats the size on the Cap figure? Is it smaller or is the Skrull Giant man that much bigger?

Tim, the Cap figure is the 3.75" type figure.
The skrull is 11.5".
It's $13.50 clearence at my local Wal-Mart.
If any of you guys want it, and your Wal-Mart doesn't have it LET ME KNOW quick.
I can go pick it up for you before they sell out.
They had a few left as of yesterday.
They also had the other 2 pack with a 3.75" Iron Man and 11.5" Giant Man as well for the same price.

Awesome Dell Rusk!
I've been eyeing that for about 2 years now.
I've seenthe Spider-Man one and that one os preety cool. It plays the 60's Spider-Man song and everything.
I think you can find these on You Tube so see how they look and sound.
What I really like about them is the 60's comic art on them.
Good thing you picked one up already because I heard they are no longer making these.

Got this mask a month ago. It's appears to be a 70's or 80's kids mask made in Argentina....

I have the cologne (for active boys. lol) now too. I think I picked up the cards too. Cards were big in the early 90s.

The mask doesn't look like any of the Ben Cooper costume masks from the 1960s but that foreign market Cap stuff always has the strange item pop up.

The knife is interesting. I haven't seen that before.

Sam, there is a Cap Mego car on eBay now. Jump on it!

I'm closing in on completing the Cap Marx figures from the 1960s and early 1970s that I have been targeting. I'm down to needing about two of them.

I'm gearing up to photograph my Cap collection this week so I should have lots to show soon. And I plan on loading up at Wonder Con for any figures I missed.

Thanks for the Americar link Atomic, I now have it on my ebay watch list.

Wow you collect the Cap Marx figures!?!?
That's sweet, I keep an eye out for em too but they usually get a little too high for me. One of these days I may run out of Cap stuff to collect and have to pay more attention to those rare hard to find Marx figures.

The Franklin Mint knife pops up on ebay once in a while, I think I saw one on ebay last week. If I come across it again I'll post the link to it here.

Wow I'm really excited about seeing your new Cap collection pics bro! YES!!! I gotta feeling your collection will blow everyone away!

There are the really expensive Marx products on eBay now. I'd love to have those 1960s collectables but those prices are too high. But the Marx ones I'm targeting are the plastic figures in different colors with Cap holding up the shield.

According to Ballman's Marvel Silver Age Collectables book, Marx made four different colors. Some bootleggers in Mexico started to make their own versions in the early 1970s to add four more colors. And then, if one wants to hand-paint a figure, that could be considered a 9th figure. I've only got two more to find that seem to be the rarest.

And the prices really are not that outrageous but there is competition. With me getting most of the colors, you got one less competitor though!! lol

I'm hoping to have time to start photographing the collection this week but the week is shaping up to be a busy one.

Atomic, I would e-mail you these links but I don't have your e-mail.

Holy cow PS, I remember seeing these in Woolworths back then! They were in the toy department and back then these figures weren't sealed in any packaging. The stores got these boxes with a count on it and when you opened the box they were all loose and the clerks would take them out and stamp a price on the bottom. Boy do I feel old!

Does anybody own the MARVEL Figurine Collection Magazine #9 "Captain America"?

Just saw a review of one of these magazines in another site and I didn't realize how cool it was. Given that the info inside is dated up until the date it was published but it's still cool. The magazine contains like a detailed bio on the character and different things of his world like major events and supporting characters.

Been thinking of getting the one for Cap. Anybody got it that can give me some input?
Posted:  29 Mar 2010 19:30
Sam-Yes, those are them although that gold one is a repaint job with a fancy base. Too expensive though. I was just photographing the figures yesterday so I'll be posting them soon. I want to assess what I have in the collection before Wonder Con so I don't repeat buy some of these newer figures.

Rod-Yes, I have it. These are made for the UK market but you can order them through PREVIEWS or your local comic shop when they are new. You'll probably have to go the eBay route for the Cap figure.

I haven't opened mine up but these are good little metal figurines. They come in plastic in a little box, awkwardly packaged in a plastic bag with the magazine (which does get beaten up). The upcoming Enchantress one coming out soon looks tempting.

I'd like to see some scans of pages from one of these. I saw the scans of the pages from a Firestorm site and liked them. I liked all the info on these:
http://firestormfan.com/images/dc_lead_figure5.jpg
http://firestormfan.com/images/dc_lead_figure6.jpg
http://firestormfan.com/images/dc_lead_figure7.jpg
http://firestormfan.com/images/dc_lead_figure8.jpg

My local store had some of these and it just so happened that the Firstorm was on sale 50% off.

I wouldn't get all just the ones of my favorite characters....Captain America, Red Tornado, Booster Gold, Martian Manhunter, Dr. Fate and a few others...

Except for Cap, I don't even care much for the figures....probably sell them on eBay for someone who doesn't care about the book but wants the figures.
Posted:  29 Mar 2010 21:27
Rod- I got the book and will scan a few pages for you. Just give me a few hours, and I'll post em here.
I gotta make the kids some lunch first.
