Salutations. Being new to the site, I first would like to extend a gracious "Hello" to everyone. I found this site after a Google search for Captain America fan sites and I became a member, because I wanted to share a 4-minute, "motion comic" type of animation I put together, which recaps significant events of the 1st issue of [Marvel's] CIVIL WAR limited series. I noticed on this site that there's a written summary of Civil War, so I just decided to post a link to my animated version of it and share it with others who also enjoyed the series. I hope you all like it.

That was GREAT! How long did that take to do?

Hey VictoryInDefiance. First, thanks for the compliment, it is much appreciated. To answer your question...making this animation took a LOT of hours, that I stopped counting midway through the development. If I had to make a rough guess though, I'd say about 120-135hrs. Not straight hours, of course, but on-and-off over the course of about 1 month. I had a good time with it though, especially the part with Cap escaping the helicarrier and landing on the jet. Using Adobe Photoshop and Flash, I can animated almost anything...almost. --Thanks again.

Yes I LOVED the scene with Cap escaping from the helicarrier. I'd like to see more if you ever get around to making them!

Creative Artist, or should I say C.A. (Captain America?)....
That was pretty awesome. I could watch that all day. I loved the sound effects. You could continue the music during the text scenes to keep the viewer hooked in.

Welcome to the boards.

Only a true fan would devote that much time to a project like that. Very cool.

To VictoryInDefiance, glad you liked it. Today acutally, I uploaded another animation to my channel at YouTube, which is of my all time favorite character, THOR. Just a little something/something I was inspired to do, based on a very awesome picture by Marko Djurdjevic. Check it out when you get a chance.

To Who311, thanks for the compliments. I appreciate it. Yeah, even though I am a musician (I made all music in the animation, except the military trumpet and drum/march clips)...I didn't spend nearly as much time putting together better music for the animation as I should have. Next long animation I do, I'll invest the time to do it completely.

And to respond to the comment about being a true fan, I've always liked, admired and enjoyed reading anything about Captain America. For as long as I've been reading comics (30 years), he's been one of my favorites. I like Captain America so much as a matter of fact, that after 9/11, I decided to create my own Captain America-type character and a month later I came up with my patriotic hero...The SYMBOL. He's my version of Captain America and Batman rolled into one. A patriotic version of Batman OR a dark knight version of Captain America. As a matter of fact, if you wanted to see him, you can go to Photobucket.com, search for CreativeArtist and you'll find several images of him. I'm proud of that character, if I may say so myself. I'm working on his animation, as well.

That's funny that your character is a combination of Cap and Batman. They happen to be my two favorite characters ever.

VictoryInDefiance. Yeah...I like Batman too, mainly because he is a hero/character who could actually exist. No superpowers, he isn't from outer space nor does he have a magical weapon (hammer or ring). He's a "regular" person, just like you and I, except that he's conditioned himself to be the personification of human perfection, mentally and physically. And even though Captain America is a product of the Super-Soldier Serum, he's practically the same type of character, as far as believability is concerned. That's why I created The SYMBOL as a reflection of them both. I wanted a believable character "born" from the tragedy of 9/11. Someone who took great loss and used it to become more than what he was, for the sake of his country. Mark my words, one of these days, The SYMBOL will be released to the public, as either a graphic novel or a 4, 6 or 8-issue limited series, whether under a major publisher or an independent one. I believe in my character and to tell his heroic adventures, which merges the TV series: 24 and the movie: The Dark Knight together, [to me] will be a successful endeavor. I'm working on making it a reality. ---Stay tuned.
