O man!! I love that cover to Cap #227. I have a few ungraded Don Rosa Peds. They are all Mike Zeck covers. No 9.8's im sure. Probably 9.4's at best.
I think Gene will be signing eventually. Probably wont be at a Con but a private signing. Besides needing the book for my Cap run, This will definitely get signed if there ever is an other signing.
Did you send anything in for the Stan Tribute? I sent the AF #15 German reprint just for Stan, Spidey #1 Silver(1990) for Stan and McFarlane and a Spidey #13(1990) just for Mcfarlane. I fast Tracked them, I cant wait to see the label. __________________

Dude I didn't send anythng in, and I'm SICK about it.
I just needed more time to get a few Mcfarlane stuff.
What's sick is I saw a Mcfarlane Spider-Man #1 (1990) silver cover CGC 9.8 at WonderCon for only $20.
Did NOT get it at that time, even though it was cheap. Just trying to stick to my Cap rule.
It's been hard because Spider-Man has been my favorite comic book to read since the 80's too.
Anyways yeah I wanted to, but did not send anything in time to reach the deadline today. I got really busy last week, and I didn't even realize the deadline was so close till this past weekend.
Dude, I'm just sick about it.
"If" I did send something in, I was thinking about these comics....
(Not that I would have sent them all, but these were what my choices had come down too)
Spider-Man Annual #21 (Wedding Issue)
to be signed by Stan Lee & David Michelinie
Marvel age #41
to be signed by Stan Lee
Spider-Man #323
to be signed by Mcfarlane & Micheline
Captain America Annual #1
signed by Stan Lee
Oh and this too if I had bought it....
to be signed by Mcfarlane
Anyways, none for me this time around with the special Stan Lee Tribute label.
I may get some of these signed at SDCC.
I know Stan will be there for sure.
Last year Mcfarlane was there as well and I saw Chandler getting sigs from him there. So maybe I'll get another shot at Mcfarlane another time.
Maybe, but still no Stan tribute label!!
You gotta post yours when you get em, I gotta see what I missed out on, lol!
By the way awesome choices on when to send in!

Truly awesome Sam!! Very good grade for what he puts the books through lol. It should read signed and painted by Joe Simon. Wonder why it doesnt. Probably 1 of if not the grail of your collection. Congrats!! __________________

Yes I'm very happy about the grade!
Chandler thought it might be a 6.0 or 7.0, so an 8.5 is a pleasant surprise.
It also "might" be one if the highest CGC SS Joe Simon sketch out there. Not sure though.
Do you know, how many have you seen out there?
As for me I've only seen (4) other CGC SS Joe Simon sketches, all held by NYComics. His grades were 7.0, 7.5, 8.0 & 8.0.
Other then his, I haven't seen any others.
Like you said, an 8.5 is pretty good for how he handles his books. lol.

I think he had a total of ten done and I have seen one other board member have one that NYComics wasn't a part of. So I would say there are 12 Simon sketch covers that are graded. I would also say yours is the highest graded and it looks like he put a little more into yours. I really hope I can get it on one of these. __________________

Wow 10!?!?
How many different style sketches have you seen him do?
I think I have seen he does 3 different ones.
Have you seen any more?
If you had a choice, would you prefer one over another?
Here are the ones I have seen, these are from NY Comics...

Tough to decide. Think I would like one with the original shield though. I like the darker blues he uses also. Really cant be to pick cause I just want one.
Yeah I have seen all of the ones Sean had done. he sent them to me via Pm on the boards. The other one I think is owned by Medicar on the boards. It doesn't have a yellow background. Its more of a building not colored just pen lines and it look like he has the shield over his head coming down with it like a hammer with both hands on it. Book is beat up pretty bad to if I remember right. I think the new ones Sean had done have a light blue paint wash for a background. __________________

Awesome, AWESOME books Tim!!
Both of those are some sweet additons to your collection!
Both of those are books I need myself lol!
I have lost several auctions already for the Brubaker #1. The last few 9.8's I was watching on ebay sold for about $36 or so, but with shipping total price was over $50.
I'm trying to get it less then that, but it's tough.
Maybe I should start looking at 9.6's, but even those don't pop up much.
I'm considering just trying to find it raw then submit it myself.
Chanlder looks to be releasing info on his East Coast legends tour, so I may get some Joe Simons for that. I have some books in mind already.
He already has my (3) Steranko Cap books to get signed this weekend in Pasadena at the Rock n Con.
I asked to get those signed by Steranko & Joe Sinnott.

Thats awesome. I was actually going to offer you my other 9.8 or my 9.6 signed by Simon. The 9.8 has a crack in the case but book is fine. Anyway great news on picking one up. Any plans for sigs for it? __________________

Wow Tim, thanks for thinking om me bro!
As for sigs for it in the future, I'm open to the idea for Brubaker, Epting, & Simon.
Well I have good news and bad news, bad news first...
Steranko didn't show to the Pasadena Rock'n Comic Con. Chandler has my (3) Cap books to get signed by Steranko (and later by Joe Sinnott) and so they didn't get signed.
The good news....
I called Chandler on his cell while he was in Pasadena and asked if he had an extra blank with him cause I wouldn't mind getting a Bob Layton sketch,
Well he did, and he got me a Cap sketch from Layton!!!
So that's what's new, plus I picked up the Brubaker #1 as well as the Cap Volume 3 #1 Sunburst 9.8 too.
After seeing yours I had to get one myself lol, it's a sweet cover!
I picked up both of em off of Agent 007 from the CGC boards.
Also finally picked up a Batman #251 8.5 for Neal Adams & Denny O'neil to sign at SDCC this year.
Will post photos when I get em in.

Aww WOW man, I didn't even see this post till now!
Looks awesome man, I had seen it at the CGC boards earlier but did not know it was yours, WOW!
I really like how he did the cube, it looks like it is actually glowing. Awesome detail in this one.
Recently I have seen a lot of stuff from Haeser at the boards but this one by far my favorite so far.
Congrats Tim!!

Yes! That's why the title of the thread is Cap CGC comics. Should we get rid of the thread because you have none? I really don't see how your comment is usefull. __________________

Well if you go to eBay and type in Captain America CGC you will be suprised how many come up. I collect CGC copies of my favorite Cap covers and for books I would like to get signed. Sort of an addiction so you might be better off not buying any lol. What sort of Cap stuff if any do you collect Pole? __________________

Sam, I talked to Sean and I'm in on a Simon sketch if Joe agrees to do them this time. He going to try and do an Avengers blank this round. I tell you what though, it isn't going to be cheap. It's a Grail to me so the price doesn't matter. Hopefully it does happen. Cross your fingers for me.
How bout Chandler with all these great signings! I hope he sets something like that for the NY Comic Con and has a meet and greet. __________________

New addition. Purchased for the Legends signing. Hoping to add Steranko, Simon and Sinnott to it. I also have a CGC 9.4 copy but don't want to risk a grade drop. I think this one will get a grade bump.

Awesome #110 9.0 Tim!!
It looks like it could get a bump to a 9.2! Sweet!
Alright bro, I wish you luck on the Joe Simon sketch!! Wow and if it gets done on an Avengers blank that will be one of a kind since we've only seen him do Fallen Son blanks in the past.
I am curious as to what the price will be.
Chandler told me that Joe's son handles the money/payment on Joe's sketches and that it's roughly around $500.
Is that an acurate ball park if it can get done?
I agree though about it being a rare grail. If it can be done, then GO FOR IT!
Jack Kirby is no longer here, gotta get a Simon Cap sketch if the opportunity comes along even if it is pricey.
