Sam! I got my grades for the 2 Cap #1's German reprints. 9.6 and 9.2. Happy with the 9.6. Not sure what was wrong with the other one but still decent grade. Probably sell that one and one of my 9.4's.

Also that Hulk #34 I submitted got a grade bump. It went from a 9.6 to a 9.8! Very happy bout that.

Probably get these books back next week. I didn't go through Chandler with these but I did submit books to him. So his books should be done soon as well.

Agreed! The blue ink is a nice touch!
Awesome book bro!
I'm gonna e-mail Chanler and see if I can get an update on my books.

I think I know what grade your Cap #1 Reprint got. I wont mention it unless you want me to.

Yeah bro, let's hear it!

I would have to bet that it is a 9.4. The CGC census has been updated and a book that I submitted to Chandler (Wizard #133 Cap 9/11 cover) is now on it and the only one. Now I say yours is a 9.4 because there are 3 - 9.6's , 3 - 9.4's and 1 - 9.2. I own the 3 9.6's, 2 9.4's and now the 9.2. so the third 9.4 must be yours. What do you think LOL!!!

Wait a minute... are you saying that you are the only person out there that has a Cap #1 reprints with Joe Simon CGC SS!?!?!??
Posted:  19 Dec 2009 14:34
At one point but now you have one also! I'm sure that will change in the coming year.

Awesome Dell Rusk!

It's pretty cool that you were the only one out there with the idea to get these Cap #1 German reprints signed by Joe Simon himself.
With all those CGC SS collectors at the CGC boards, no one thought about doing that yet??
Posted:  22 Dec 2009 00:04
Oh and by the way I'll have more pictures to add to this thread in a bit.
I recently picked up.....

Cap Annual #1 (1971) CGC 9.0
Cap #237 CGC (1979) 9.4
Cap #266 (1982) CGC 9.6
Posted:  22 Dec 2009 00:46
Not sure why! There's really only one person on ebay selling them and its only maybe once a month. When I bought mine the seller said they would all be 9.2 or lower. Guess I got lucky.

One board member has the Marvel Milestone Cap Comics #1 CGC 9.8 SS by Joe Simon. I have 2 but nothing close to a 9.8. At this point I don't care about the grade going to submit one of them anyway. I already have about 5 books for the next signing.

Did you get that Cap Annual #1 off of Ebay? Think I saw one on there a week ago or so. Great pick ups.

Also on the CGC boards someone was selling a SS Cap with Zeck Cap sketch. Think $65. it was a 9.4. If I can find a pic I will post.

Yes sir, got them off of ebay.

Yeah I saw that Zeck Cap sketch 9.4 for $65 at the CGC boards.
I saw the same one on ebay also.
I don't know about it, I want it...but I want it for less.
I guess the price is right, because a Zeck CGC SS is $35.
Then you said before it was an extra $15 for the sketch, right?
Plus $15 to get the book back from CGC to you.
That comes out to $65 right there, and that's what he's asking.
So not bad.
If he drops the price, I *might* be more intersted in it though.

I'm guessing since the last sketch opportunity sold out pretty quick it will cost more next time. Still worth it though. If it comes up again, My Cap #332 will be next. You have to find a book that has a decent open spot or a light color cover so you can see it.

Aaah good advice bro!
I'm gonna have to start going though my collection now to try and find that perfect Cap comic with space for a Zeck sketch on a comic Zeck did.

Plant the seeds in Dan's head now, tell him you are very interested in another Zeck small sketch opportunity. I'll do the same and maybe he will run it by Zeck to see what he things.
I think you are right though that it will probably cost more.

Freakin CGC collecting, it's really cool but the wait kills me!
Posted:  22 Dec 2009 23:12
I think Chandler might have the books shipped back to him first then he ships them to you. Don't quote me on it but I'm pretty sure that's how he does it. He deals in such hi volume that I don't think he makes out separate invoices for each submission.
For $8 more Fast Track takes only 10 days. I will definitely send Dan a message.

Got my books back from Chandlers signing. They were shipped right from CGC so I guess I was wrong.

This book is waiting for the next Zeck sketch opportunity.

Yeah I just got books back from Chandler as well, but no Joe Simon stuff, only Stan Lee.
Did you pay extra to get yours back already?
Just wondering when I should expect my Joe Simon books from Chandler.

Anyways I got a few books to post here, gotta go take some pics later...

This book is my absolute favorite. I dont understand the grade since I removed it from the plastic it came in when I was sending it out.  Truthfully I dont care about the grade. I just love this cover.

And now the after, with Stan Lee autographs....

Nice!
My only slight disapointment is the Avengers book came back down a grade. (8.0 to a 7.5)

Oh yeah and the other new addition to my collection.. Cap #1!
Thanks Tim!

Man that's a lot of books you had done. I tell you what, I like the way they do the restored SS label. Your Simon books will be there soon I'm sure. I'm a little closer to FLA. then you. I would say Saturday or Monday.

Sam, It looks like the Avengers #4 is the Golden Record reprint. You also have the regular edition right?

I like that Wizard cover also. I was thinking of getting three Wizard Cap covers done and having them framed by that Frameitagain place. In a 3 panel frame.

Yes that Avengers #4 is the GR reprint alright.
I bought it off of ebay months ago CGC 8.0.
I do have a regular edition with Chanlder to be signed by Stan Lee & Joe Simon, I forgot to list that one above.
Ha ha how did I forget to list THAT one, LOL! That's the main one I'm waiting for, LOL!
It won't be a high grade though, probably cream pages too.

As for your Joe Simon books, did you pay extra for faster shipping?

Also yeah I'm really considering getting the
Frameitagain CGC frames as well.
I'm thinking a triple frame for my three Cap Steranko's.
Also a triple frame for some Cap Zeck books.
Maybe Annual #8 CGC SS, Cap #286 CGC SS, and in the middle put that Zeck Cap sketch.

Do you have any framed ones up yet?
