Captain America Action Figures

Might as well ask it:
What I want, something like that new Star Trek movie, new, fresh ideas, great story, lots of action and some great characters, but still maintaining the integrity and heart of the Captain America universe.
A cool origin story:  Cap, like Supe and Bats, needs a great, memorable origin (None of that Ultimate Origin, becomes Cap in 1943, "Don't want to be stuck here with dames") Note: his father died when he was very young, so Steve Rogers didn't have a father figure; in Nicienza/Macguire Adventures of Cap, there was a commanding Officer that was his teacher/paternal figure, opportunity to make a great character to guide and shape the future sentinal of liberty.
Good film look, like Saving Private Ryan, where the lens were opened wide, letting more light in, colors were dulled, it also made a lot of the background looked groomy and overcast,  Spiderman and Iron Man had that bright hip color look, without going overboard and looking silly like the Batman tv show.
Good actors:  Tatum was one of the few young actors that I can watch on screen, but he showed no interest in the role, like Shia who is turning down the Y the last man role, he'll be turning down Cap (Just hope it won't be like Dougray Scott who couldn't do Wolvie or Sean Young who couldn't do Vicky Vale in Batman '89, or Clive Owen was once thought to play Bond in Casino Royale.).

Well, I've been giving this a lot of thought, and I really am stuck.  I don't envy the guys trying to create a sensible two hour film that captures who and what captain american is to the Marvel Universe.

I would love to see a refernce to the Torch and Namor, not necessarily on camera, but perhaps discussion in nazi headquarters if the fish man or the flaming man are real or just Allied propaganda?

I would love to see a romantic story between Cap and Agent 13, especially if it's revisited in the Avengers film where Cap is still young and she has aged 60 years.  Showing what you give up in being a super hero.

What might be interesting is if they explored some of the other guys who put on the uniform, You could start off with Steve Rogers II in the 1950, talking to Bucky just before they join up to fight the communist skull.

That'd be cool.

I want to see a CAP film period! Right, got that out of the way, for me we need to have a film that is not afraid or to coy to triumph what Captain America stands for, it should promote his ideals, as irespective of the politics or demographic, bottom line they are decent, honorable ideals that we all could do with a bit more of.

To this end we need an actor who can pull this off, I dont really have a suggestion here, in some ways doing a "Reeve" may be the best way, as how Superman turned out to this day I still find stunning, Cap should be like that.

The Uniform, it needs to look top notch, as does the Sheild, story wise It must start in WW2, the origin doesn't need to be distorted, as for bucky, yes but as a flashback, but enough to explain him well.

I personally would only deal with Steve Rogers, I would go into 50's commies etc.

Then Bring him bang up to date (i.e. in the not to distant future) he will have to have undergone some form of suspended animation, this I would maybe dabble a little with, possibly government enforced? Then its into a 24 style effects laden extravaganza that drops your jaw to the floor as Cap kicks ass and saves the day (I am not sure from what though lol)

That would be satisfy me, I think.

I agree, get the Cap movie out of the way.  But Cap's a high-profile character, and it's going to generate lots of attention, so if the movie is bad it'll really hurt Cap's rep outside of the comic arena.  All we can do is hope that Joe Johnson would make a good movie, writers put in some good lines, it looked and acted well, make over a hundred and fifty mill, ...and get something like 70 to 90 percent favorable ratings (I check out the rotten Tomatoes site).
So, girl lead in the Cap movie, I too favor that spy girl, Agent 13, or Peggy Carter theme for Cap, that youtube fan movie, he favored that girl-left-at-home theme (That theme was used for the Ultimate Cap -- which when Origin came out, Cap wanted to get away from his girl).

Social relevance?  Something in Cap movie that'll reflect what's in society.   I would think it would be apathy, like with news of the Nazi rise, lots of people were apathetic, or didn't care, but Steve cared, and stepped up and did something. When the Japanese attacked on Pearl Harbor, Americans rallied together and did something.  Something like that would be great, Cap rallying the troops, stopping evil, ending in a bang.

(Dates could be wrong) Avengers movie is being pushed back to 2012, so 2011, it'll be Spiderman4 (May release maybe), and Cap would be July (July 4 would be ideal).  With 2009-10, Iron man2, Thor, a Green Lantern movie, maybe Batman Begins 3.  I like Superhero movies to be few and far between, keep us wanting more, keep this genre interesting.  There's a Jonah Hex movie, but that's going to be a western.  Words out for a DeadPool and maybe a Wolverine 2 movies.  Magneto and Luke Cage I haven't heard anything for a long while.

even though I know it would never happen, this is one reason I think exploring Cap from the persepective of Steve Rogers II is an interesting idea.  You can start off with Cap as a legend, and even show why you have a hero rich 1940's and then no heros again until the Hulk in the 2000's.

You tell the story from the point of view of a man tyring to be Cap, without ever realy understanding who cap is, and then at the end, when he is put inot suspended animation, you show the real cap frozen in Ice, knocked into an ice flow by the Hulk, and ready to be reawakened by the Avengers in the Next film.

Since the two steves look the same you even get to use the same actor for both.

Cap is a legend, and should be seen as legendary up until his revival in Avengers.  Since we don't have people discussing the legend in previous films (though perhaps that will come up in Iron Man II)exploring the legend in a Cap film with characters that aren't cap creates that legend, without taking away from it by showing the humanity of the character too soon.  In Avengers we get the legend brought low by the modern world, and his inability to save his friend.

How about a narration of an unknown person on that legend, like the opening of Superman in '78, with a hand turning the page of Action comic number 1. Interesting.
Iron man began with Tony Stark playing with his celebrity persona with the soldiers.
Daredevil began with him battered and bleeding on a cross.
Spiderman was a kid racing for a bus.

I kind of like Cap smashing through a warehouse on a bike and slugging a whole bunch of thugs.  Start off with a bang, like a James Bond movie or Raiders of the lost Ark.
