I Have to get on it! I'm stressing out crazy now. Oh yeah, it's WH from the old board. WH was too short, so I'm going by WH0311. 0311 was my MOS in the Marines.

Sounds like from the article that they might be planning a Avengers movie. Do you think they could pull that off? __________________

I think they could pull it off. I think it could be good too, but as Arad said a while back he wanted to get the characters out there by themselves first, but I am sure that that is probably at least in the plan. If it happens I'm sure is dependant on the success of the CAP, Thor, Ant-man and Nick Fury movies. I always thought it would not happen because most the avenger characters where licensed with different studios, but if Ant-man, and Thor are both going to be produced through Marvel, then that means they are pretty much set especially since Marvel is already getting started with Iron Man and now have the Hulk back. We could be only a few years out from seeing an Avengers movies that is a lot like the Ultimates. That would be awesome. I'm going to auditions fairly regularly now, so hopefully I'll get a few gigs so I have more to bring to the table when I petition myself to play CAP, but if not, Marvel is still going to get an ear full from me.

Keep plugging away.
You know if they have to have a movie for every Avenger before they make an Avengers movie it's going to be years before we see that one.
It would really be awesome to see a live action movie with the Hulk vs the Avengers like the Ultimates Animated Movie!
Say maybe you could play Time Rider. __________________

The article didn't mention the number of writers and rewrites Avi Arad talked about in making this Cap movie. From one article, a David Self, who's penning a Sub Mariner trilogy, was linked in working on a Cap movie script.
Dolph Lundren, from Rocky 4, also has a script and is lobbying to play Cap.
The writers of Saving Private Ryan submitted a script.
I'm still in the Wait and See position.

I think we all are in a wait and see position, but I think what the big news is that a CAP movie most likely WILL get made. I think for all of us here who are true fans, this is big news and we just want a good movie that is faithful to the character as much as possible. If you want worry a bit more, go on IMDB.com and see that they have the director of Napolean Dynomite listed as the director for the CAP (2009) film. Also, don't worry about Lundren, he WILL not be playing CAP no matter what. I don't think any of us actually are threatened by that news.

He can't play Cap he's a big Russian commie.
Besides he almost ruined the Punisher with the old Punisher movie.
He's good as a bad guy though. Loved Rocky 4 and the Universal Soldier. I think he made his mistake by trying to play good guys. He should have stuck with bad guys. __________________

You know where I really loved him? Did you ever see Red Scorpion? He was awesome in that movie. That was when he was still buff, not all skinny and into Kung Fu and he played a Russian. He's best as a foreigner, especially russian, hell, if he was still big like used to be like in Red Scorpion, he could have been in the new Punisher movie as The Russian! Anyway, he's really good at action movies with very little dialogue. Man, he's good at that. That is, as long as it is not one of his newer cheap kung fu movies. Leave the Kung Fu to Van Damme and Seagal. I agree, he almost destroyed the Punisher in that sewer living, skull knife is his calling card, first Punisher movie. With saying that, I can't wait for Red Scorpion 2: Attack of the Clone Scorpions! (sorry CapWriter, I could not pass it up)

I never saw "Red Scorpion, but I remember watching entertainment tonight back when it first came out. It was like his first big solo starring role and it was supposed to launch his career as an action star if I remember correctly.
You know Van Damme was always a favorite of mine, but I saw on one of those biography specials that he goofed up and refused a mult-million dollar movie contract and after a couple of flops he could only get those straight to video deals. I watched a few of them but they just aren't as exciting as the big budget movies.
You know Dolph and Van Damme might be better off relaunching their careers with a good TV show just to get attention back to them. Then they might be able to get some big budget movies again like that guy from 24 Kiefer Sutherland. __________________

Hey all, I just surfed on, I belong to the firefly forum and we have a discussion going on about Captain America, We are all rooting to have Adam Baldwin play the famous Captain! (sci-fi fans know him as tough as nails Jayne Cobb on firefly and in the movie Serenity)
He's big, handsome, strong, and extremely intelligent in the issues of America on the forum, it's amazing to see how his brain works.
Luv Ginger
Any one have any thoughts?

I like to see him play on stuff, I dont know, could Baldwin play a real super patriotic kind of guy? He usually plays a hot head type, and Cap is usually calm that is until the Civil War.
Hey you might want to upload your images to the superherouniverse.com art gallery for use on the board.Seems like some of your images aren't coming through.
Got the Cap painting up which is very cool looking by the way.
thanks for joining the board. __________________

I like Adam Baldwin. He is a good actor and good tough guy, but he is too old to play Cap. I respect him and his work though.

Didn't Baldwin play on the X-files as one of those alien guys that was after Mulder and Scully? He had like black ooze coming out of his eyes or something. __________________

Thanks for the welcome!
I posted two image links on this thread just now. I didn't get to see his part in X-files, but i know he was in a bunch of episodes. I understand the age thing, Hollywood likes to keep their heroes young. Adam is 44. I found out they casted Iron Man and got Robert Downey Jr He's in his mid forties.

Just read that movie will be half period piece, half modern times. What does that tell you? Works for me. I've said all along that's how it should be. Can't wait. No release date yet. That sucks. There is a writer. No director yet. Gob to superherohype to read the whole update. __________________I want a giant penny and a lifesize T-Rex statue in my high tech basement.

Yeah that figures it would be half period half modern. I guess that's the safe way to go. Still I think it would be wise to stretch it out a little bit and maybe have it sort of to be continued with him landing in modern times. __________________

I think this is cool too. Maybe they'll do the double story thing like I suggested.
Don't worry Capwriter, I know you suggested the half and half thing a long time ago.
Where have you been?

I've been working and raising a young family. Still love me some Cap. I see we still have trolls hanging around the boards ... the more things change, the more they stay the same. __________________I want a giant penny and a lifesize T-Rex statue in my high tech basement.
