Batman's darkness comes from his origins and the alley way nature of the villains.  Superman's origins are different and in a sense the villains he battles don't come from the dark back alleys as the Batman's.

I don't care how long it takes to make the Captain America movies as long as it is done right!  You can be patriotic and positive without be sappy.  There also needs to be a story of the strength it needs to keep us safe and to enjoy the freedoms we have, even the freedom to disagree.

Most definitely you can be positive without being sappy. The thing today is though Hollywood types tend to look at any positive patriotic messages as sappy.

What was the last movie you watched that really made you feel good? I've seen a lot of movies I thought were exciting and action packed, but I'm having a hard time thinking of one with a really good hero type you could root for. Maybe Spider-man.

Don't get me wrong I love most superhero movies, but it's rare for Hollywood to really hit the nail on the head, or give you something that actually makes you feel happy for once. Heck it's time to get out of the darkness mode. I'm tired of being depressed. Bring back those old days of optimism.

http://www.themovieblog.com/2008/11/channing-tatum-would-consider ...

I saw this just recently.  Channing Tatum, Duke in the upcoming GIJoe movie.  A little young, but it is an origin movie and a young man that begins the legend of Captain America.  Does have that billboard chest and tall lean body for all those acrobatic leaps.  Some work on his arms to make them bigger will help.

What do you guys think?  Some blogs says he's not right, but I'm going to wait to see how he handle himself in that GIJoe movie.

I can't say a whole lot till I see him act, but his background is something that lends itself toward him portraying Cap at least in my mind. He's not born and bread from Hollywood for one thing.

This is what his bio says at Imdb.com

Channing Tatum was born on April 26, 1980, in a small town called Cullman, outside of Birmingham, Alabama. Growing up, he was full of energy and somewhat troublesome, so his parents decided to enroll him in different sports such as track and field, baseball, soccer, and football to keep him out of trouble. In the ninth grade he was sent to military school. It was there that he discovered his passion for football and his hopes became centered on earning an athletic college scholarship. Channing's goal was finally met, and in his senior year in high school, he was recruited and earned a full athletic college scholarship to a school in West Virginia.

Tatum is also skilled in Kung Fu and in Gor-Chor Kung Fu, a form of martial arts, in which he has earned belts in both. Channing later left college and, in the meantime, worked as a construction worker and mortgage broker and salesman. He has modeled for Abercrombie & Fitch, Nautica, Gap, Aeropostale, Emporio Armani, and has been featured in television commercials for American Eagle, Pepsi, and some very popular mountain dew commercials.
