Markus and McFeely Penning Captain America

Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely are in negotiations to write Marvel Studios' First Avenger: Captain America, to be directed by Joe Johnston and produced by Marvel's Kevin Feige.

Created in 1941 by Jack Kirby and Joe Simon for Timely Comics, Captain America is the heroic alter ego of Steve Rogers, who is rejected by the Army for being too sickly and undergoes an experiment that takes him to the pinnacle of human form. Paired with an indestructible shield, he becomes a symbol of the war effort, fighting Nazis and villainous scientists like the Red Skull.

In modern times, the character starred in his own long-running comic series and also was a charter member of Marvel's superteam, the Avengers.

Marvel's "Captain America" will be a World War II-set movie, and the character will appear in modern day-set The Avengers.

Markus and McFeely worked on The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe and its sequel, "Prince Caspian." The duo also wrote HBO's "The Life and Death of Peter Sellers."

Alright! I'm happy with that. I saw the first Narnia movie, and I was VERY impressed. I think Marvel got the right guys.

I thought the guy Juarssic Park would do it...?

I'm still waiting for the second Narnia to come on DVD. Got the first one thought it was pretty good. My wife is a big fan of the Narnia books.

The Jurassic Park guy is DIRECTING it, not writing it.

I think that was a good writing choice.  It seems they are starting to get serious on putting things together.

I take it you didn't like the first film.

I have never heard someone refer to that movie as "awesome".
For that matter, I have never known anyone to say anything positive about it.

I'll say something about it though, I'd say they did a good job on Cap's costume in that movie.

The worst thing about it was probably the script.
Man it was bad.

Look, Stripes I have the movie, the beginning is dreadful and somewhat sad.
He's my review:

The film starts in 1936 fascist Italy, where the government kidnaps a talented boy from his family. The boy is needed for an experimental project to create a fascist supersoldier; however, Dr. Vaselli  objects to using the boy, and under the cover of gunfire flees to the United States of America to help create an American super soldier.

Seven years later, the American government finds a volunteer in Steve Rogers, a loyal all-American that is excluded from the draft because of his polio. The formula successfully transforms Rogers into a superhero, but before any more super soldiers can be created using the formula she keeps in her head, Dr. Vaselli is murdered by a Nazi spy. Meanwhile, the Italian boy has become the Red Skull and is planning to launch a missile at the White House. Rogers, code named Captain America, is sent in to defeat the Skull and deactivate the missile.
Over all, Cap doesn't serve in WWII, for like 10 min.
He cuts off the R. Skulls hand, and yet somehow gets tied to a missle.
The missle doesn't land in the ocean, it lands in Alaska....
A bunch of eskimos finds him, yet he unthaws himself and yet runs all the way to Canada. Buch of assains (Hired to kill Cap) go after him on Motorcycles...I assume the girl was Sin and one of the boys Crossbones, but in cycle suits. After all the movie doesn't get the very good, you can tell when theres a stunt double, 'cause Salinger arms were friggin' thin, he was a WEAKLING. He was not in the depression, no Bucky, no soldiers on his side, did not serve threw the hole WWII, like in the comics.
The movie was a low-budget film...meaning the movie was a DUD.
All though the ending was GREAT, best part of the movie...(A minute or something before the credits role).
Over all 3/10
Also did I say he lives in a rich California home? He's wealthy, in the comics he's poor.
Oh, he smokes too.
