I have no clue why I just thought of him, but I realized no one had thrown that name around. He's a little on the old side ( 38 ), but he looks VERY young. Dude doesn't age. He's already played soldiers (Saving Private Ryan), all-american types (Roger Maris in *61), and he's proved that he has some chops. Not an A-lister, but not an entirely unknown. He also has some pretty expressive eyes, which is where I see the majority of Cap's real character being translated.

Here's a good pic of him as Roger Maris.  He can put on muscle if he tries.  Probably would need a little more, though.

Saving Private Ryan is an old movie, was he a young soldier? He might work.
Show me some pictures.

I think that is one of the better suggestions for Captain America.  War ages a person, so the person doesn't have to be 18 years young.  With the mask, the acting (and the eyes are a HUGE acting factor) have to be uppermost to carry all the complexities of character off well.  AND he could carry over the possibility of being Captain America in the Avengers movie.

I half to admit he looks about 90% better than my choices. He's look like a great Cap!

Now I can only pray that Marvel Films reads message boards.

I hope, if they aren't they better be an actor like him, or .

Anyone here on the Marvel boards?  We could really use this system of tubes we have here called the internet to spread the word.  We've seen how fans can influence characters and actor choices (Sam Jackson, anyone?)

I have a profile, I haven't chatted on the message boards a lot, but I have a profile.

I just got it onto Comicbookmovie boards after a little trouble last night.  Got a topic up there in the Cap Movie boards.  Let's spread the word!

John Cena As Cap? And Triple H As Thor
Posted:  30 Oct 2008 02:54
Being a recovering wrestling addict myself, I have indeed considered them. As good an "actor" as Cena may be, and as much as I like the guy, NO ONE is going to take the movie seriously if a wrastler is the title role. All things being equal, if Cena's a no-name guy without the wrestling fame, he gets the role. He's got the chin, the jaw, the physique, and the eyes. The reason that The Rock has been the only successful crossover guy is because he completely divorced himself from the industry and became a full-fledged action star in the running for Black Adam (inspired choice, btw). As for HHH, I'd also tend to agree. Lord knows he has the look of Ultimate Thor, and the voice.  But again, he's so tied to the industry that no one will take him seriously, no matter how seriously he takes the role. As far as acting goes, he's tops in the business right now, no doubt.  But as much as it hurts me to say it, wrestling will always carry the stigma of being a male soap opera.

I Agree But On A Physical Aspect You Cant Hav A Cap Like Superman, batman, Etc. Movies. And Also Got A Perfect Actor For Black Panther The Guy Who Played In Blood Diamond.

He's not, HELLO? Barry Pepper is young, fresh, strong, and has played in WWII movies...alot. So he knows how to act as Cap.

Also, John Cena is Thomas Jane in The Punisher (2004), he made a decent Punisher, but he's more on what girls what like him to take his shirt off. He wasn't on very Punishing Spree. He killed very few.
That's what John Cena is. Keep him to yourself.
