I'm really, REALLY P.O. at this fake, if its on youtbe, it would be on Marvel. He's not on Marvel, he's not on IGN, he's not the news, he's not EVEN an actor!!! For the last time Marvel said these 3 choices would be Cap
DeCarpio, Pitt, or Mathew M. I'm not making this up.
Go ahead search it up, you'll never find him on the REAL sites with REAL information. That guy is just a fan made guy, who says he's an actor. ENOUGH of this person, I would rather have Damon then this guy for the movie.
'Nuff said.
No more of this dude.

I'm pretty sure he's been Cast.

His name is Big Ben.

Holy crap.
I actually took the time to WATCH that horrid video on YouTube that was provided on the initial post.
I even read the comments posted about the video.

First of all, this guy can not act for beans. Really.
If any of you reading this missed the link above, go back and watch it.
Embarrassing "if" this guy is even considered to be playing Cap.

Everytime he smiled at the camera, it was just embarrassing.
I thought I had seen it all until he yelled out "Loren I Love YOU!!!" at the top of the rock.
Cheesy, and again I say embarrassing.

I'll say he has a good look for Cap, but HE CANNOT ACT.
He would be perfect for some straight to video romance chick flick movie........ maybe.
Only chicks would belive this video.
In fact most of the comments below the video that loved the video, are all women commenting...
example....

Wow....that 7:43 seconds was one of the most emotional of my entire life. Your dreams and determination make me want to be a better person. Your love for Loren is so touching. I wish that someday, a man like you would hold me in his arms.

WOW! You're actually built very similar to my estranged hubby. We're currently separated and I've done everything I can (except this!) to get back with him. If I only could find a guy who would do something like you've done.

Well, if this guy wants this video to find Loren so bad, how come he posted the complete video months after putting out all that "I'm CAP" media? Does he want Loren to find it, or Marvel?

PS. It was pretty cheesy. I actually like his CAP look less now that I've seem him more. I think he's kind of shorter. Maybe not short, but not CAP height of 6'1" or taller or so.

Looks are great, Reb Brown had the looks...but I don't think we are expecting Reb to make a comback (though I would love if he got a speaking cameo in the film, may be Captain America's Drill Sargent, that'd be cool).

There's a hundred hunky muscular guys who could pull off the cap look, but Marvel Studios is looking for a top actor now, on par with Downey or Norton.  I'm not going to judge the guys acting chops until I see him act, but the physicality of the role will be handled by CGI (as in the first fight between the hulk and not yet abominable abomination) so his physicaly talents really are secondary.

Remember this guy is going to have run scenes with Downey and Norton, and Samuel L. Jackson, and whomever they get to play Thor.  The last thing they need is a guy who is a decent actor and a great body.  They need someone who is a fantastic actor, the body they can fill in later.

hmm...you know given the need for a pre-supersoldier steve, the may go a very differnt route here.  Getting a thin frail talented actor, and superimpose him on a Cap quality body.

Who knows, this guy could be Cap, but sort of like the guy who was on set was Darth Vader.  He was there, doing the moves, speaking the words, but the voice (and in this case face) comes from some place else entirely.

Why the hell isn't he on Marvel then??? Explain.

I think I'd rather they use special effects to make the actor skinny than big. Cap is only skinny for a small portion of the story.

That's true, and of course that basic logic means that they probably won't hire a thin actor (David Spade?) to play Cap.

But they probably aren't going to go for a slab of beef cake either.  Think Tim Roth in the Hulk Movies.

You take a physically fit actor, and have him outrun, out jump, and out fight his opponants using CGI, and you've got your Cap.

The muscles in costume for cap have varied by artist, and remember they'll probably play up the chainmail aspect of his costume (as opposed to spandex) for the purpose of easy bulking up.

So, yeah, they'll probably get a guy who can play steve rogers first, and make him captain america.  One thing about Cap's personality that I think is rarely explored is that prior to becoming the super soldier he was just a weak guy who probably got pushed around a lot.  As such his compasion and desire to use his powers for the betterment of others is more ingrained then say in a guy like the punisher.

Finding someone who can play Steve Rogers is more important than finding someone that can play Cap.  The Body is easy enough to manufacture, but you need someone with a little guy's soul.

Think about Christian Bale he was skinny as a rail for The Machinist where he got down to 121 pounds which is young Steve Rogers weight scale. Just in time for Batman in which he had six months to train he gained up to 230lbs. By the time shooting began Bale's weight had dropped to 190lbs. I guess he had to rip up and loose the extra weight he put on for muscle gain.

It's possible to start out with a skinny guy and train the crap out of him to make him hero material.

The Christian Bale Machinist/Batman transformation is legendary...it's not clear that another actor would be able to do that, especially since Bale's health became a real issue on the set of the machinist.

It's definatly possible, just not necessarily practical. Especially since so much of the fighting Cap is going to be CGI any way.

I think Christian Bale is the best example of an actor losing weight for a role then beefing up. I'm sure that Bale had some health issues doing that. Matt Damon lost a lot of weight for Courage Under Fire that he had to take medication for two years to recover from that. I don't think that actor playing would have to get that skinny, I think it can be done with special effects/CGI, however, if it could be done, it would take a long time for the movie to be shot, like how Tom Hanks did it for Cast Away. He gained weight for the role, then the film took a break for 10 months so that Hanks could lose the weight. I don't if this necessary for CAP.

Sorry, but this would not work at all. CAP is real man not a monster like the Hulk/Abomination. He has to be there with the other actors not put in digitally later. I think mostly, they should make him skinny like they did to Tobey in the first Spiderman. He was not that boney and skinny when he took off his shirt after getting bitten by the Spider. After all, CAP is going to be CAP, not pre-SSS for most the movie not to mention the Avengers and whatever sequels, so a skinner actor will not work what so ever. Actors have looks, and they try to stick to that look as much as they can. That is why when you have an actor like Norton, who beefed up for American History X, or even Charlie Sheen for Hot Shots two, they don't keep the muscle because they don't want to be getting cast as the new muscle actor like Stallone or Arnold. The only actors who seem to really be keeping the muscle they put of for roles after the movie is finished is Ryan Reynolds, Thomas Jane, and to a sense Will Smith. Although all those guys where pretty built already before their respective movies but they just added to their body's.

Thomas Jane was great, they should've kept him.

If Marvel picks Dicaprio for the role I swear i'll but every copy of the DVD when it comes out just so I can set fire to all them.
