Your Cap suits always rock, Buddy!
I'd love to see pics of all of them!
Question:  In the suit you are wearing in your avatar pic, is there a foam lining inside the cowl to give it better shape?

Musclebuzz:
Thanks for the compliment!
Sure I need to go find my pics of some of my suits and post em up here.
I have sold 2 of my 5 suits in the past year, but I know I have pictures of them and will post them here.

As for your question about my mask in my avatar:
There is a wiremesh sandwhiched beneath the material (on the forhead only). This allows you to adjust the forhead inward or outward to shape your face.
It was made for me by Kelly from KMD Artistry.
So it can fit the users face perfectly every time.
Very crafty idea!

I've taken a couple of stabs at the new Cap uniform.

to see more, go to my myspace www.myspace.com/paintballcaptainamerica

I play paintball in a Cap uniform. I've made several variations and just keep cranking out more and more. It's an addictive hobby.

Ha ha that's great!!

I bet you are everyones favorite target when you are playing paintball.
It must be fun to target the walking flag!

Awesome pics guy, and you know what I think I've seen you on Myspace before as well.

more than likely, you have.

You know, everyone assumes automatically that I'm an easy target or most likely to get shot at, but it all depends on the style of game. In Speedball, like what you'd see on TV, EVERYONE wears colorful jerseys. Mine just doesn't have logos on it. Mine's waaaay cooler.

I got a long running question:

With that round shield and star in the middle, do people actually subconsciously shoot at it?  People are trained to shoot at target, and with that shield, it does give out a 'target' view.

Plus, how does that shield hold up when getting hit by paintball? With that mythical Vibranium metal, Cap's shield practically absorbs all the shocks.

People DO seem to hit the center star alot,as you'd expect. It's like a bullseye. At scenraios, I'll hold it out behind bunkers so people shoot it and call out their positions to my teammates.

As for the durability...which shield? In truth, I have several, actually.

I'm pretty happy with the WW2 emblematic shield, which I built from wood. Pretty durable and of course, very light.

The stop sign shield (in my avatar) is darn near invulnerable, though it has a deceptive weight that sneaks up on you.

I've made shields out of several other things, too...saucer sleds, pizza pans (erm...yes and no on durability.), wok lids, BBQ grill lids. Trying to find the perfect round shield for my purposes..

My current project has some potential, I think. I'll let you guys know how it turns out.

You all have fantastic costumes, I am currently working on some Watchmen stuff and possibly a Cap jacket.

Some great costumes up here! It looks like it took a ton of work to make the scales for the armor; awesome job.

And the paintball costume is a hilarious (and really fun) idea. Maybe next time my friends and I go out to play paintball we'll do superhero costumes with helmets instead of our DYE Gear. It would make one heck of an impression. And... do hits on the shield count as a hit or not? Do you use red white and blue paint? Are the costume and shield washable?

Also, this is my first post here on the website. I just found out about it today from a friend who occasionally checks it out but hasn't registered or posted anything.

So, by means of introduction, here is a picture of me rocking the red white and blue costume at an event:

http://img17.imageshack.us/img17/2193/captainamericae.jpg

It's from a campaign costume party where we got to dress up as our favorite superhero!

Enjoy!

Awesome guys!!
Hey Paintball those boots look perfect, like you stole them from Bucky straight out of the comics!
Posted:  15 Jul 2009 05:13
Thanks. I ordered them from BuyCostumes.com

They call them Hook Black Adult Boots. I believe they're supposed to be pirate boots but they suit my purposes nicely.

This past weekend was the annual Invasion of Normandy paintball scenario, the world's largest paintball game.

Over 3,500 people attended and played. I went as Captain America (DUH!) and, as my Company Commander put it, OWNED the role.

I lost count of my "kills" by 50 and I personally led 4 seperate charges Saturday and another 3 on Sunday.

At base camp, just before heading to our "landing craft" to assault the beach. This is the uniform I wore for the entire weekend on the battle field.

http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/ll143/CaptainAmerica_photos/BaseCampfullbody.jpg

Just prior to heading to the A-Company tent to meet with my Commander on Friday evening.

http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/ll143/CaptainAmerica_photos/headingtoACompanytent.jpg

The costume contest, post game. I lost to Jesus, though I placed second.

Coming out of the woods onto the beach. I'd run out of ammo and needed to head back to reload

http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/ll143/CaptainAmerica_photos/l_26fcf6625c094b83b461e34005bdc76c.jpg

The world famous Tippmann Castle. Man, that thing is HUGE!

http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/ll143/CaptainAmerica_photos/l_65d331167fd84b9c8c7bc0fe643d4303.jpg

Demonstrating how the new shield can be worn on my back. People loved that.

http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/ll143/CaptainAmerica_photos/l_857528b5e21a4fe9ab7df027252522ac.jpg

Heading back into the woods because I'd been radioed that the Germans were assaulting our base. For the record, our base was never taken nor destroyed and our General was never killed.

http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/ll143/CaptainAmerica_photos/l_c6282e4c3ca94aaabb735be0a5d73fb5.jpg

It was an amazing experience, to say the least, and I'd say it is safe to say I completely cemented myself as THE Paintball Captain America.
I also found a video that I'm in from the event. I'm just in a small bit and then it is mostly the guy in the Jeepers Creepers outfit, but hey, I'm in it. LOL

The Winter Soldier guy rules! Very good job on that one! The first Bucky Cap is great as well. All the costumes are good though.

Those are some great costumes, especially the Winter Soldier!
Now we know that the Winter Soldier can be portrayed
in reality.

Awesome costumes! They are all super, gotta love em all!
You know I was just going though this and realized that I never posted a pic of me in my Cap gear here in the Cosplay thread.

Here I am as Cap....

Looks good!!
I ordered that same mask 6 weeks ago and it still hasen't come in.
It looks like a pretty good mask though for the price and it also being licensed.
I can't wait to get mine.
Posted:  02 Nov 2009 12:14
Cool Mask! Where do you get these?
Posted:  02 Nov 2009 22:13
http://www.buycostumes.com/browse/_/N-/Ntt-captain+america+mask/r ...

the one is a 1/4 mask, meaning it is only the front of the head.I ended up sewing the one I'd bought to a ski cap then I just ordered the full mask anyways. LOL

On both of these masks, you'll want to repaint the white portions as it is obvious it was done by a machine and did not cover the areas properly.
