See Cap with the shield on the left hand corner? Go to Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, go to the marvel section, in one of the stores there is a shirt with the exact same image on it...(I have the shirt.) Also in California there is a Captain America store.

I read that the license for Marvel expired, so they are no longer at Universal Studios Hollywood.

Universal Studios loses Marvel License

By the way where in California is the Captain America store? I live in California and have never heard of it.
Please let me know, I wanna go!

Go down to Movie & Specialty Collectibles, you'll see it there.

I think what they were implying was that "Operation Super Soldier" is OSS.

but yeah, the OSS stands for "Office of Strategic Surveilance" or something similar.  They'd scout the enemy grounds for traps and useful information, locations and destinations of troop placements, etc...

Editorial Reviews:

Steve Rogers (a.k.a. Captain America) in a special meeting with President Franklin D. Roosevelt, gets presented with a technologically advanced new round shield made from a mixture of steel and vibranium, fused by an unknown catalyst for America's great justice crusader. The alloy is indestructible, yet the shield is light enough to use as a discus-like weapon that can be angled to return to him like a boomerang. It proves so effective that Captain America forgoes his sidearm from then on. Features: * Shield Measures appx 30 Inches * Display Measures 32" x 32" * Due to these shields being hand forged, there are bound to be some minor imperfections in the shield's surface.

Well I preordered both shields from BigBadToyStore.com. I just got an email from them saying that they're processing my order for the 1940s shield. Sweet!

Hey guys, just thought I would let you know my WWII Cap shield from BBTS came in last week!
I just wanted to update this thread with some pictures of the WWII 1940's shield.

First of all this shield is HUGE!!!!!
I have a shield that a friend made for me, and I thought this shield would be roughly the same size.
I was very surprised to see how big it actually is.

Here is MY shield taken at Halloween 2007.
http://photos.imageevent.com/fansubs2000/forsale/small/Ultimate%20Captain%20America%203.JPG

Next are pictures of this new shield that I just got from BBTS, and you can see the size difference between the two shields.
I also put a ruler in there to help visually on how big the shield is.

Personally I prefer the colors of my smaller shield, as it actually matches the first 1941 Cap comic.
The blue is a little too dark for me on this newer shield, but that is just a personal preference.
Others may not have a problem with that at all.
I guess this newer shield has a more "realistic" Cap shield colors, as the blue is darker like the blue on an actual flag.
Plus in a real life combat situation, who really uses a bright blue that sticks out?
http://www.coverbrowser.com/image/captain-america/1-2.jpg

All in all, this newer shield ROCKS!
It is LIMITED to only 250 in the world, so it's a real collectors item.
If you don't have it, go get em while you still can.
Now I just have to wait for the 1960's round version to come in.......

That's cool!

Say how many comic books you got?

"Say how many comic books you got?"
_______________________________

Comic books?
What makes you ask that?

To answer your question though, I actually have EVERY Captain America comic from the 1960's on.

I WISH I had the 1940's stuff, but it's just way to pricey to collect. I have the issues from when he was revived in the 60's to the current issue out now.
Posted:  21 Nov 2008 16:06
Just figured since you had all that other cool stuff you had a bunch of comics. That's what I collect mostly. That and DVDs.

That's awesome you have all those Caps. I've got a box full so far, but nearly as many as you got. But it's fun to still have something I have to look forward to getting though.

You ever hate it when you see a cool comic at a super price but then you realize you already have that one?

Yeah that actually happens a lot.
I have a friend who's a big Spider-Man collector, and when that happens to him he'll buy it again anyway. LOL!
He's week, if he sees a bargin he'll can't pass it up even if he has it.

Of course it HAS to be a good deal.
Around where we live the comic shops have sales once in a while and back issues (mostly late 70's-90's) go on sale for like 25 cents each. Those are ones he'll buy many of even if he has it already.
Posted:  22 Nov 2008 16:15
25 cent 70's books! I'd probably buy them too. At least certain issues anyway.

I just got my 1940s shield yesterday. Thing is HUGE!
Posted:  26 Nov 2008 18:35
LOL.
Is it heavy?
Is it metal?
How big?
Posted:  26 Nov 2008 20:45
The metal reminds me of the oldschool tv trays from the 70s. Its got some weight to it, but not too bad. Can't wait to get the round shield. What's hilarious is i have absolutely no place to put this thing.
Posted:  27 Nov 2008 16:00
The 1960's or round shield arrived via UPS yesterday. This is the priciest (original Price) Cap item I have to date. My wife got it for me as a Christmas present so I'm doing everything I can NOT to open it early. Can't wait to see how it looks. I will say one thing, when the UPS person dropped it off and I carried it in,I was surprised how heavy the whole thing was.
Posted:  27 Nov 2008 17:36
Heavy?
Like 50 ibs.
65?

The shield itself is about 12 pounds.
The box however when it gets shopped to you is about 45 pounds.
(there is also a wooden display plaque in the box also)

Hey JBB, you got your round one already?
Who did you order it from?
Posted:  24 Apr 2009 20:21
Just resurrecting this old thread for (2) reasons.....

1. I wanted to ask JBB how he likes his 60's round shield, any likes/dislikes about it? Do you have it displayed, or in storage?

2. Museum Replica's has just announced they will be doing another shield, a 1940's WWII version 2..........
