I always stay through the end of the credits, especially with comic movies, 'cause there's always that chance they're gonna throw in some little tidbit that is gonna be cool.
I went with my son to see Iron Man yesterday, and by the end both he and I had to pee, so against my better judgement, we left during the credits. DO NOT MAKE THIS MISTAKE!!!
I won't be a dick and give it away, unless somebody specifically asks me, but when I found out what I missed, I was *extremely* pissed.
The movie was awesome. They did a fantastic job. It is tied with Spider-Man 2 as my favorite comic movie, and it is second place only to Rise of the Silver Surfer for my favorite appearance by Stan Lee.
Do yourselves a favor. If you haven't checked it out yet, go see it. Don't wait for DVD, don't settle for some awful pirated copy, go see it on the big screen... and wait 'til the end of the credits!

I saw the movie and watched past the end credits too.
I loved it, they stayed faithful to the comics and you can't ask for more then that in a comic movie.
Well, except fot what came after the credits.
That took the ending to a whole new level!

SPOILER-Y (If you haven't seen the end of Iron Man)
From http://www.businesswire.com/portal/site/google/?ndmViewId=news_vi ...
Feature Film Slate Update:
Marvel today updated its feature film slate strategy and plans for the next three years, locking in key release windows for its character franchises. In order to focus its attention on maximizing the success of an Iron Man sequel and the launch of Thor in the summer of 2010 and because Marvel believes that the summer is the optimal time to launch a new property, the Company will not release a self produced film in 2009. Marvel plans to launch its 2010 film slate with the release of the sequel, Iron Man 2, on April 30, 2010, followed by the launch of Thor on June 4, 2010. Additionally, Marvel is planting its feature film stakes for summer 2011 with an Avengers-themed summer – a two-picture project which will debut on May 6, 2011 with The First Avenger: Captain America (working title), followed by The Avengers in July 2011.
Marvel’s Chairman, Morton Handel, commented, “Adjusting for the strong year-ago contribution from the Spider-Man JV, Marvel’s Q1 2008 operating results continued to demonstrate strong global demand for consumer products based on the Company’s portfolio of characters. Marvel’s self-produced feature film slate launched this past weekend with a performance that firmly establishes Iron Man as a major new film franchise, and the Company eagerly awaits the June premiere of The Incredible Hulk, Marvel’s second self-produced film. In addition, Marvel has been investing in other important areas of growth such as the Internet where, to lead the Company’s newly formed Global Digital Media Group, Marvel recently announced the hiring of Ira Rubenstein. Marvel has a strong foundation to build from, and the Company is adding infrastructure to maximize these opportunities.†__________________Captain America is an FDR Democrat.

Marvel Studios Sets Four More Release Dates!
Source: Yahoo! Finance
May 5, 2008
Marvel Entertainment released their first quarter report to its shareholders this morning to coincide with the announcement about the success this past weekend of Marvel Studios' first production Iron Man, which grossed an estimated $100.7 million domestically and over $200 million worldwide. The announcement included an update of Marvel Studios' feature film slate with the already-rumored Iron Man 2 announced for a release on April 30, 2010, followed by three more movies for the summers of '10 and '11. Matthew Vaughn's Thor is set for a release on June 4, 2010, and The First Avenger: Captain America (the working title) will kick off the summer of 2011 on May 6, followed by the highly-anticipated and foreshadowed The Avengers scheduled for July 2011. (Edgar Wright's Ant-Man is also listed as being in development with no release date set.)
With that in mind, one can start expecting a lot more announcements in the coming months about creative teams and casting for those movies including who might direct the Captain America and Avengers movies. (Whomever plays Steve Rogers AKA Captain America presumably will be making two movies at once.)
There will be a webcast for investors at 9AM Eastern at www.Marvel.com/webcasts where the same information should be relayed. __________________

Yes very good movie. On par with Batman Begins as the best superhero movie. Spiderman 2 was very good, but they could have cut about 10 minutes from the film.
The new Hulk trailer looks promising too. I was a little worried about the CGI in the trailer, knowing it wasn't finished, but I'm a little bit more relieved after seeing the new preview.
2011 looks like it's the summer for Cap. Sweet!!!
Still not convinced they will do an Avengers movie. Too much money involved. Don't hold your breath....

Iron Man was amazing. There was nothing wrong with it at all. I was watching Entertainment Tonight a few days ago and they interviewed Robert Downey Jr. and asked about "any sidekicks?" and he said something along the lines of "I'm not gonna hide details from the fans of my franchise. So its most likely going to be Terrence Howard as War Machine in the next film".
I like that Marvel is putting out Marvel Films now. That is such a plus for us fans. Amongst the four Avengers related films, I also read something about a Spiderman 4, hopefully if Marvel does it they can mend the tragedy that was Spiderman 3.

Yes, I loved the Iron Man movie, Downey jr and Paltrow practically stole the movie, ...but "Nothing wrong"? There are many things wrong, such as Terrance Howard's voice, very weak, not masculine enough, ...I hope they improve it in the next movie, ...War Machine. That ending, cool, neat, great, Iron man versus bigger, badder Iron monger, familar, done before, so it wasn't so surprising or Iron man/Downey was ever in danger or that he was going to die or lose that fight. But despite these problems, I did find the movie enjoyable and fun and well worth the money to see. Not for everyone, ten and under might not get some of the jokes and images.

His voice? Are you kidding me? Terrence Howard is awesome. I think he was the best choice for James Rhodes.
Obviously the villain is going to be the Mandarin in the next film, though I'd like to see Crimson Dynamo and/or Whirlwind.

I thought the guy who played Rhodes did a great job.
He seemed a perfect fit to me.

Well, not for nothing, but even if it was a battle against a Galactus type, I don't think IM would have lost... it is after all his name on the title.

Forget the Mandarin, ...tired old cliche-ridden 50s Asian Master criminal whose going to take over the world, ...save it for the Master of Kung Fu, Shang-Chi movie that can be made for under ten million that can further promote Marvel around the world.
Iron Man movie established Stark's drinking, relationship and new business venture, ...soo, War Machine to compete with Russia's Titanium Man and Japan's Armored Tech warrior (New badguy). It'll be a world policed by Armored soldiers!! Wouldn't that be cool?

Yeah I say that they bring on the other "Iron Villains" for the sequels.

Chances are, a good chunk of the movie will involve Fury trying to start up the Initiative, and to give it conflict, I think at first Tony won't want to be interested. Having people to report to will interfere in his ability to help who he wants when he wants, and also interfere with his drinking, still very important to his scheduling. In fact, I think with the public knowledge that he is Iron Man, his drinking will grow to gargantuan levels. In fact, I'm betting that his own personal Demon in a Bottle will cause the trouble in the sequel.
Drunk off his ass and binging, maybe he tried to save some building and an innocent person got killed, he ends up sleeping with a beautiful, exotic redhead with a Russian accent... the Black Widow. She steals specs for the armor, thinking she's providing information to the Russian government. In actuality, she's given them to separatist general Aleksander Lukin (possessed by the Red Skull in current comics) who uses them to create the Titanium Man.
When the Titanium Man armor rampages innocent people, Rhodey recognizes the tech and confronts Stark, who is drunk off his ass again. Jim and Tony get into a fight, Jim kicks his ass, and in a drunken stupor Tony reaches for a repulsor gauntlet, but is stopped by Pepper. Seeing the tears in her eyes, he realizes how he's hurting those he loves, and aims the repulsor at the bar. Tony knows the Titanium Man needs to be stopped, but is terrified he'll get drunk again and hurt somebody, so he specializes new armor for Rhodey... War Machine. However, inexperienced War Machine gets his ass handed to him, and Tony has to face his fears and his demons, don the armor, and save his friend.
After the big battle, Fury shows up at Stark's office. He asks for a drink, and Tony tells him he's done with booze. He admits that he needs help at times, and asks to see Fury's files.
Just off the top of my head.

Pretty good. I got into it. Maybe you should try to sell the story to Marvel. A lot of times they have seperate writers write the story and screenplay.

My problem is laziness. I can create tons of cool story ideas, but when I try to sit down and type them all the way out, I get part way through, lose my train of thought, and move on to something else. I've actually talked to a Marvel writer who lives near me, and had him look at some synopses, but never pushed further than that. Laziness is my Red Skull. It always tries to stop me, and I'm sure it will one day kill me.
God willing I'll have the good grace to come back to life with a variant chromium cover.
