Assumign teh skull would be in this film, I would think that John Malkovich would be IDEAL for the role!

However, methinks that they will go the Baron Zemo route to do a backstroy, and then make Skull show up in CA-2 if htey get that far.

Ok, then who would play Zemo?

I don't think they'll do much of a back-story for the movie.  Probably open it up with the last battle before he was frozen.  Then while reviving him, explain how the SSS got in his system and how it helped him survive the ice.  Similar to the ultimates.  Here is where they change it up a bit.  Red Skull is a neo-nazi who grew up in Hilter's Germany etc etc.  I do think they'll go with Red Skull because he is the classic villain for CA.  Just like Spider-Man got GG for the first movie.

Who plays RS?  Malkovich is a good choice... can he do a better German than a Russian?  (See rounders)  Hey, why not keep the Middle East theme going (See Iron Man) and do, oh what's his name, the other guy to successfully get the SSS.  Damn, I can't believe I'm blanking out on this one.  You know of whom I speak.

Thought I'd throw my two cents in for Johnny Depp, who I think would make an excellent Zemo or even Red Skull. He is the kind of actor who can play just about any part and in appearance seems ageless.

Bruce Willis? He would look good as the Red Skull.!

Willis would make a better middle-aged cap.

But, if they go younger, then yes...Bruce Willis woudl be a great choice!

If they went younger, I'd say Crispin Glover woudl do nicely.

You know, Leo wouldn't be a bad choice.  It doesn't seem like a manly choice, but if you actually watch his acting skills as opposed to the characters he's played, it's not at all a bad choice.  I think he just seems, well, un-manly is to strong a word, but hopefully you catch my drift, because of Titanic.  Catch me if you can and the aviator are really good examples of how good he can be.

He's actually one of the finest actors of our time...he's amazing.

However, he doesnt' have the build for it.

Do you speak of Protocide?

As for the Skull, I don't think whoever would play him needs to specifically have a good German accent.  Alan Rickman didn't exactly sound like an episode of Hogan's Heroes in the first Die Hard, but it sounded realistic.  Hell, Sean Connery plays characters from dozens of different countries, and always with the same accent (especially noticable in The Hunt for Red October, which he was great in).

You could also throw in Crossbones as the head goon for the Skull.  Big guys to throw the hero around are always fun.

If only Pacino could do a good German accent!  In Scarface, he was such a rabid villain, he would be a good Skull.  I can see Malkovich as Zemo.

Listen guys, they only have the director of the movie. That's it.

I think Richard Brake would be an awesome Red Skull. He's scary lookin enough haha.

Wow, I was gonna say someone else, but see Richard Blake. Wow, All that guy needs is red paint. He also kinda looks like tom petty...hmmm

How about Malkovich for the Skull and Tim Curry for Zemo?  Tim Curry can do an outstanding evil and sadistic villain!

Peter Weller could do either role also.

What really convinced me that Richard Brake could be the Red Skull was watching him in "Hannibal Rising". I thought it immediately when i saw the film. The dude is really good at playing evil characters.

He would be fab!

ps.  I know they only have the director, but it is fun speculating what actors would be good in different roles!

It is fun. Hopefully somebody will take our advice. I got cap tatted on my forearm, that means i have to live with the success or the failure of the cap film haha.
