Hey Tim,

What's the lowdown on seeing the Sentinel of Liberty on the big screen?  I started reading Cap when I was little and just picked it back up again this past year so I'm a little behind on what (if anything) is available as far as seeing Cap in a live action film.

Are there any fan films available?  And what about that Matt Salinger version?  Are any of them worth checking out?  If you could give me a short rundown or list I'd be very obliged.  Thanks.  RR

Well, I'm not Tim, but I have been researching the possibility of a movie for about 5 years now. That's how I found this site actually.

Here's a few links: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0458339/

I've heard Thor and Hulk are going to be next, but in that biz, who knows?

Wade,

You've got pretty strong features.  Good luck with upcoming casting opportunities.  What's your heritage, if you don't mind my asking?  I'm pretty much a mix of Scots/Irish/German with a little dab of Native American.

I hope this upcoming film Marvel does about Cap is good, I was just wondering if there was anything available to watch now.  I noticed some news on this site that someone was working on a fan film or something.  Is there any truth to that?

Thanks. (I take that as a compliment)

Thanks again.

Full blooded Sicilian! Just kidding. I had somebody ask me if I was Italian once, and I thought they where kidding, but they weren't! I think Italian is the furthest that I look like, well, except for the obivious that is.

I've got a lot european mix in me as well. I'm German/Polish/Hungarian/Scots mixture. I also have heard that I have a tad of Native American in me too. I'm pretty sure my Dad is 1/16 Cherokee, so that makes me 1/32 Cherokee! So no full ride scholarships for me. Guess my GiBill was enough since I went through school debit free.

It's funny how as American's we derive from so many national backgrounds. My Grandmother on my father's side is so german, she was actually a secretary for Hitler's cheif of staff in WWII. After we beat the Nazi's, my grandfather (died before I was born), a scots blooded Texan scooped her up while he was in the Air Force and made her is wife.

For the other side of my family, my Mother's father, was in the US Army, and used to get beat up after trying to stick up for himself when he would be harrassed for being a Pollock. He married my Grandmother who was first generation in the US from Hungary. I think her maiden name is ZAM. Never heard of name like that, but interesting none the less.

Not sure where the Cherokee fits in, but there you have it. It's fun thinking of where your families backgrounds came from, but the fact that so many people from so many different contries came to US to make a better life, just reminds of how much of an American I am.

Seems I was a bit long-winded, but I do that every once in a while.

S/F,

Wade

Hey Wade,

Some great history there.

Both my grandfathers fought in WWII as well, and I had the privilege of knowing them both.  One was a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne.  He fought behind enemy lines in France and Italy.  On my father's side, my grandpop was a Navy midshipman serving in the South Pacific.

Man, the stories those two could tell... When my mom's father first signed up to be a paratrooper, some wiseguy at the recruiting station called him a SOB.  My grandpop knocked the guy across the room and told him that, 'nobody was gonna call my mother a b****.'  Needless to say it was the beginning of a long and memorable adventure in the 82nd.

Dude, that's awesome. That should be a scene in the CAP movie!

August's Wizard magazine had an article on the Iron Man movie; teaser trailer shown at the comiccon; fans cheered; word is good; yadda yadda:  In a small blurb, Marvel wants the Cap movie to start filming next year, 1998, likes the David Self's script, but no director or actors linked to the movie yet.
My suggestion for director, the guy who directed Casino Royale, or Paul Greengrass (I think is the name) the director of Bourne Ultimatum, or even Steven Speilberg, at least someone capable to making a great Action movie.

I know they wouldn't do it, but have the Cap movie take place in WWII and use the same greyish filter they used on Band of Brothers, Saving Private Ryan, Flags, Iwo Jima, etc.

Hell, even get Speilberg-Hanks or Clint Eastwood to produce/direct.

Maybe they could end it with the plane blowing up and him coming to in the 21st century.

If only they would, Nomad.  The story deserves that kind of respect.

Do you guys know if somebody made a Cap fan film?  I thought I saw a few pictures on this site earlier and somebody selling a WWII Cap shield...

I agree with Nomad, the greyish filter to start, with the film in WW2, then bang full colour when "Cap" arrives in the 21st century, what a ride!

Oh and Wade for CAP!

Well, first of all, gonna play no matter what it takes.

I was thinking more in the style of Sky Captain and the world of tomorrow, didn't see it?  It's available for rent and sale.

Sky Captain is neat, but it's all cgi except for the people. There are some scenes that don't seem quite real. Cars for instance just don't feel real to me in that movie.

Hey I'm new to the site but I want to piggyback on what Union Jack said Wade would make an awesome Cap. I think it takes a real military person to play Cap. Definately a soldier or marine. I'm in the air force myself and I don't know anyone as cut as the soldiers and marines I've met. But I think the military attitude can't be faked, it has to be real and you have to really believe in it. So I definately think someone in the military or has been in the military is a must. And hey it sounds like from the posts I've read we have a marine who's into actings so I'll say again, Wade looks built for the part and I'm sure he has the attitude for the part.
