Hi Tim,

I usually read the info provided but rarely contribute. Many of my opinions are "hot headed" because I believe, for the most part, Marvel is anti-American. They have not used Cap to fight the War on Terror, the greatest fight on out hand since WWII and the Cold War. Even if they do not agree on this War, it is a reality and should be addressed.

The Invaders and Avengers crossover will be fun to read. Cap will return to the past to keep history "correct". Cap will return to life in our time when the writer decides it has run it course.

For the two writers, Cap own book, and Invaders to coordinate on an ultimate Return would be "wild" but a little to much to hope for.

Initially I was not in favor of Bucky's return but it has been handled well. I hope Caps return and his dealing with Ironman on the "registration issue" will also be handled as well.

Thanks for your time on these postings.

Pole805,

Just an error on my part.

Oh sorry.

Word, patriot. Chose One was a breath of fresh air compared to the Brubaker crapola. I don't care that the end was somewhat X-Files-like ... because I love the X-Files!

Anyway, I'm not a fan of the Invaders and its confusing Human Torches. I've always hated the Namor character, so I'm not optomistic about this dead-man-out-of-time-back-in-time-via-hole-in-space/time-continuum stuff. I love Alex Ross, that's about the only good thing going on this.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Cap is better written and represented in all of these one-off titles than he is in his own flagship title written by Ed Brubaker. That's why I'm done with the flagship title after issue #30.

I hope Iron man turns a new leaf so I can stop hating him before his new movie comes out. The trailer for Iron Man is pretty cool.

Hi All,

I love Ross's new cover for the Invaders/Avengers crossover. I enjoy just about anything using the golden ages characters. There are two or three big names out there doing some stuff with characters from the 40's and I will get them all because I am a very sick person.

I did see the Ironman trailer and it is great.

Iron Man trailer with Metallica sound did rock the bacon.

For the vets on this board, that is an old saying. Anyway, here comes Pole with a non sequitur comment any second now ...

I like that Thor just whipped Iron Man's ass. Very nice.

Everybody is whipping Iron Man lately. Just read Spiderman's latest where Spidey webs Iron man up where he can't move. At least shell head did pay for Aunt may's doctor bills at the end but only after threatening to arrest Peter Parker and giving a horrendously communistic speach.

Tim,

I like you don't particularly care for the standard MU version of Tony Stark, however, you don't have to hate all of them.  Ultimate Stark is pretty cool and it looks like movie Stark is going to be a pretty kick @$$ kind of guy.

As for Iron Man getting his rear kicked... he deserves it and I think he knows it.  I like how Thor put it, the difference between the god of thunder and a mortal man in armor.  Or something like that.

I would just enjoy movie Iron Man better if comic book Iron Man wasn't such a jerk. I'll probably still like the movie, but it would improve the experience for me. I just don't see as to why they have to write Iron Man as such a fascist anyway. The best way to describe him is a heroic dictator with occassasional feelings of good will, but still a dictator. Like he helped out Peter with Aunt May's bills, but told Peter if he ever say him again he'd arrest him or whatever. No class. Hasn't Peter Parker got enough problems?

Part of the problem with Iron Man may be all the multiple writers.  Because of his position, he's now being worked into almost superhero comic line, and different writers have different takes on him, or different opinions on the SHRA, different political axes to grind, etc.

Oddly enough, in Cap's book, he comes across rather sympathetically IMHO.

Er...and the song in the Iron Man trailer was Black Sabbath, not Metallica.  Better not let any Ozzy fans  see you made that mistake :P

I never really thought of it that way.  However, isn't that really his position.  Like Nick Fury or not, he was in the same spot.  SHIELD is kinda supra-government agency.  Granted, Nick stepped down or got out or whatever (I joined the fray during the Civil War) but still what was the difference?  Not that I'm giving Tony a pass.
