Samuel L. Jackson -
"I see [Marvel movie producer] Avi Arad a lot, because we live in the same neighborhood," Jackson said. "I express my interest in [working with him]. I always wanted to be Iron Man, because he was always like the rich dude who created this whole thing." He's not really kept as a superhero, he just creates stuff to make himself a superhero as a rich guy." Although an "Iron Man" film is on Marvel's fast-track, Jackson is doubtful that he'd ever be asked to play Tony Stark. The actor is, however, hopeful that Arad will listen to his pleas regarding another veteran Marvel hero with a film in development who was recently given a comic-book makeover to resemble none other than ... Samuel L. Jackson! "Nick Fury would be great," Jackson said of the hard-boiled S.H.I.E.L.D. agent. "I've been reading Nick Fury since when I was a kid. I collect comics. ... I'm kind of geeky."

-end of hype

Interesting I guess he wasn't just playing a big comic fan in "unbreakable" with Bruce Willis.

You see the part where he said he sees Avi Arad a lot. I knew there was a reason the ultimate Nick Fury looks like Jackson. It was a plot from the beginning to get him on a Marvel movie. It pays to know people in high places.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing, but I don't really buy the the idea the Sam Jackson was really all that into Fury before they The Ultimates. I guess I would say the same thing, well not really, since I DO want to play Captain America, and I already stated that I was more of a Punisher fan until I got out the Marines and was more attracted to CAP after that. Of course, I might what to take Jackson's word for it since I may be sharing the screen with him in the Avengers films!

That reminds me have you seen the "Who Wants to BE a Superhero" show? Stan Lee keeps saying things like superheroes never kill or reveal their true identities, but you know what where does that leave the Punisher and what about Spider-Man recently revealing his identity in the Civil War?

Yeah, I've been watching that show too. I think he just needs reasons to eliminate people. Look at the whole Iron Enforcer thing. You can't tell me they did not plan to have him become a villian from the very beginning. The show does not have the budget alot to other reality shows have and that's why they eliminate 2 people per episode sometimes because it was not picked up for too many total episodes. The show is kind of lame, but I keep watching for some reason. I think Feedback is going to win with Dark Enforcer as his nemisis in the comic.

When I first saw the commercials for the show I thought it was going to be the lamest thing I've ever seen, but I think what makes it good is that it has heart. Stan Lee has been able to impart an old fashioned flair that you just can't quite put your finger on. Something old TV shows had years ago.

I think that Feedback guy really got to Stan last week. He practically called him his father. I hope he wins, but the commercial shows Stan broke up over an elimination so I'm afraid it might be Feedback. Surely he's not getting broke up over kicking out Fat Momma. How she's made it this far I'll never know. I doubt she's ever even read a comic book. That whole give everybody doughnuts thing she does is really annoying.

Check out the Negotiator, where Jackson played a Police negotiator wrongly convicted of a crime and becomes a hostage-taker to route out the real bad guys.  Or Shaft, that sort-of remake of the 70s PI movie of the same name.  Closest I can think of if Jackson wants to play a super spy.
For me, Fury was that ultra cool 70s Jim Steranko spy with that cool blue uniform and space age guns and gizmos.  They almost captured it with David Hasselhoff in that tv movie, Nick Fury, Agent of Shield.
