Wow sounds like they might make Avengers at the same time or faster than a Cap movie if they are already working on a screenplay for Avengers.

I doubt it will come out before a CAP movie. I think they'll want to get people interested in CAP, Thor and Iron Man first. But it sure sounds like they may come out pretty close to one another.

I don't see how they can possibly pull that off unless Marvel Entertainment holds the option on all of the Avengers characters. For example, IF they wanted to do a New Avengers, they couldn't because the rights to Spidey and Wolverine and owned my other companies.

I think they have the rights to all the characters in the Ultimate Avengers movie. I don't think they would do the New Avengers as a movie.

Marvel is supposidly doing an animated New Avengers. Don't remember if it was a movie or series though. We'll see. Seems as though Marvel has a lot on there plate right now.

I can't believe all the different studios, production companies and distributors that hold the rights to these characters have agreed to this:

The Hollywood Reporter says that Marvel talked about the live-action The Avengers feature:

Some time after Marvel Entertainment unleashes "Iron Man," "The Incredible Hulk" and a few other choice superheroes as stars of their own feature films, the company intends to release a live-action "The Avengers." Set to pen the screenplay is Zak Penn, the writer behind the last two X-Men movies from 20th Century Fox and Marvel. Executives spoke briefly about their "Avengers" plan Wednesday during a presentation to Wall Street analysts at the Merrill Lynch Media & Entertainment Conference in Pasadena. The comic book "The Avengers" began as a team consisting of superheroes Thor, Ant-Man, Wasp, Iron Man and Hulk. Later, Captain America and a host of others joined. Marvel calls the Avengers "Earth's mightiest heroes."
