So what do you think is the comic book equivalent of that shadowy cabal Fury was talking to in the movie? Or is there one? I didn't read it but didn't the recent Nick Fury series have something with Hydra being behind S.H.I.E.L.D.? Certainly Cap wanted to think there was something going on with all that Hydra tech on the helicarrier.

Dude, if Hydra was behind the council. that would be sinister!

Went to see Avengers a few days ago. AWESOME!
Cap was very well handled, wish he had some more scenes though. Noticed he wasn't eating in the last scene, was he? Good balance of humor and seriousness throughout. Looks like this will be a good Christmas present(Blu-ray).

Also liked the line about one God.

That after-credit scene was made loooong after the movie was finished. Chris Evans had moved onto another project where he grew a beard and dyed his hair black.  For that scene, he wore a blond wig and some prosthetic to hide his beard (So I read somewhere).

I've been reading rumors and hearsays about 30 minutes of deleted scenes (Cap meeting an elderly Peggy Carter), but after watching the Avengers, all those scenes would've slowed down the movie or made the movie go on far too long (Remember Jackson's King Kong remake?). They can use those scenes in Captain America 2 in April 2014.

I read the Black Panther is getting a movie treatment in 2014.  I would've prefered Luke Cage, private eye/superhero operating a small business called Hero for Hire.

Okay, so as much as I absolutely loved the Avengers, I know I can't be the only one who noticed that the movie poster looks weird! The proportions are all wrong, you would've thought that they had an eye for this sort of thing.
