This having his body shrivel up bugs me.
The superserum as we know it should not work like that.
Now what it makes me think of is Thor or rather Donald Blake and Eric Masterson.
Both gimps who turn into Thor or rather share Thor's body. But then get separated again.
Maybe they are trying to do the same thing with Steve. Super serum is the infusion with the 'spirit of 76' or something.

I just got into Captain America again, right before they killed him. THe winter soldier arc and the really kind of made me a fan, when I didn't really appreciate cap when I was a kid.
Anyways, I just read "The Extremists" arc and noticed in issue 10 that some body farm had made dozens of "Quasi-clones" of Steve Rogers. I think the writers may be using these to do a dissapearance of Captain America.
Here is my theory. Nick Fury stages the death of Captain America in order to clear Caps name following civil War, as well as to allow Cap his secret Identity again. So instead of killing cap they kill a clone.
This would seem like something That Cap would object to, but the writers went out of their way in issue 11 to point out the "deficientcies" of the cap clones. Dugan points out that the cap clones only function on a basic level. They follow orders, speak and eat, but Fury makes it clear when he says "they ain't actually huma, they are just machines made out of your cells, cap." So the patsy in this case is ok to kill off since they are not considered human at all.
This would also fool wolverine's nose.
Something that has been bugging me is that marvel continues to accept subscriptions for captain america, suggesting to me that he or a look-a-like will emerge soon.
I so hope they bring him back.

There's always a chance Fury somehow has him safely away, I suppose.

Speaking of which, what happened to Nick Fury and what are the theories on where he is and what he's doing. We know he's been in contact with Bucky but other than that I'm clueless.

He's been pulling strings behind the scenes and has been in contact with Falcon. __________________Captain America is an FDR Democrat.

(This is a reprint of one of my posts from another corner of the page)
Did anyone read the interview Ed Brubaker gave where he explained WHY he killed cap? I thought it was a really good reason. In my opinion, it actually made sense and it ALMOST seemed like he is the only person who truly understood what the Captain America character was.
In the context of man out of time... "Cap doesn't need to find America, America needs to find him. I don't think Cap is the one who's off the American path here. I don't think him not knowing about myspace or not caring about Paris Hilton makes him un-American. So I thought about how to write a story where America needs to find Captain America and fr me that's where the whole idea went from being a stunt to being a story that's worth telling." Reprinted in Marvel omnibus Captain America.

To hell with Marvel,
I'm a police Officer and most of my young life I grew up reading Marvel (Spidey, Ghost Rider, Punisher, Iron Man, Etc.), Captain Amerca ment the most. When most characters changed he remained stead-fast. I don't know what the hell the MARVEL RETARDS, have on their pathetic minds (besides money), but they all picked a hell-of-a-time to kill Cap (as if they shouldhave anyway). Damn you Marvel! May you lives be full of STD's and relentless horrors. Captan America (along with my father) helped make me the man I am today. God help you if I find you in my neck of the woods. YOU BASTARDS!!!!

I can't agree more, from where I stand, no matter what politics are these days, I always felt Cap was the kind of guy you could relate to, someone with strong ethics and moral absolutes in this ever-changing world...
Being self-employed, I understand what it's like to keep your business running ( and I'm sure Marvel feels the same... ), but, killing someone like Steve Rogers was a huge mistake...
I've read comics since the early 70'S, and I 've seen the character evolve, and I'm sure he is still as fresh and as relevant these days as he used to be decades ago...
In my opininon, the uniform is just a uniform ( don't get me wrong, I'm very patriotic..)but what matters is the man inside it, which is why people like John Walker ( I like him, but he's too much of a bad ass dude.. ) never gave it a good name...
Well, I hope Steve Rogers comes back pretty quickly, life is just not the same without him...

MARVEL did what they wanted,
they got sales and peopl talking.
About how they are the STUPIDEST SONS OF BITCHES!!!!
How can they kill off STEVE RODGERS!!!!
And replace him with a PUNK PUSSY like
WNTER SOLDIER/BUCKY!!
He don't even have the BALL to fill the suite!!!
Thank Marvel for ending a GOOD series!!!
Now we know why the are going under!
I will not read or buy CAPTAIN AMERICA until
they bring back STEVE RODGERS!!!!

I understand how it can make you mad and all and that's fine, but you know once is enough. Hopefully Steve Rogers will be back soon. That's the hope for all of us Cap fans I'm sure, but next time there's not really any need to post the same exact thing word for word over 3 different topics. __________________

I hope your right but Marvel says no!
Good luck with that and if no STEVE RODGERS.
No more me.
I going to read something else?
It's a shame since I have read it since the start.
I am talking about since AVEGERS 4.
What a waste?

Anyone know what issue that is going to happen in?

I wonder what's going to happen if Steve Rogers ( invader )meets the "next" captain america ( Bucky ?)
Now, wait a minute, I just realized : What if Bucky ( invader) meets himself in the present time with his bionic arm etc...?

I'm new to this board but I have one question that I'm sure has been asked alot: Why haven't they done a decent movie about Captain America? Especially in the times we're living in now? The past movies have been terrible and today's technology and spfx have been advanced enough to make Spiderman and Daredevil look believable so why not Cap, who's only real CGI obstacle is his shield ? This could have made Marvel a million times richer than Spiderman or the X-Men did. I would think it's been in the works for years but I've never heard anything about it.

You're right, but, at the same time, it's a tough character to put to the screen, he's not just like Spiderman, Daredevil, or the F.F...
The man is highly symbolic, it's not just like good guys against bad guys, I always thought Cap was more than your average super-hero, in fact, I don't think of him as a super-hero, so, the movie is going to be something bigger than a super-hero movie...

I cannot think of anyone as Captain America but Steve Rogers. It is some brilliant writing though! Think of it: Captain America NEVER surrendered; Steve made sure it was STEVE ROGERS who surrendered. Also what an ironic and powerful comeback at Tony Stark: Whatever plan he had in mind was truly blown and to rub salt in the wound was the letter to Tony about having Bucky take up his legacy. I hope somehow Steve does return, but I hope it is not the "Dallas, it was just a dream" My grocer is my best bet on getting comics, because the local comic shop is into a lot of different things like magic and video games. The scene in jail and up the courthouse steps: shades of Thomas More! In fact Steve Rogers and Captain America are very like Sir Thomas More come to think of it!

Addendum to yesterday's post: Something had bothered me with the issue with Captain America's funeral. I finally caught it last night. Did anyone notice that the riderless horse was WHITE? In all state funerals, and it doesn't have to be presidential, the riderless horse with the empty boots in stirrups is always BLACK! I remember since I was old enough to remember General MacArthur's funeral. (Okay I'm dating myself!) Is this a gaff on the part of the artists and writers? Or is this deliberate with something in mind? Did anyone else notice?

I bet most people agree with me the whole captain america story is messed up i mean first he died in 1944 from a plane rigged with explosives that killed Zemos. Then he apparentely died in 1968. Now he dies on vol. 5 issue # 25. well i understand the death in 1944 because he was found in a block of ice but how did he die in 1968
????????????????????????????????
