From what I understood, the plane was locked on to those coordinates, but he could move the axis of the plane. I too wondered that.

I think they killed Bucky off early so that it could be Cap vs. Skull mano y mano at the end. Having Bucky there is like a 3rd wheel that you don't need. Imagine Luke showing up for a fight with Vader with Han Solo by his side ... it just doesn't work.

Speaking of George Lucas, this film was great, but it did have some cheesy lines: "We're not just going knock on the front door." "Why not, that's exactly what we're going to do." Not cool ... at all, way too obvious and generic, if you ask me. Luckily there wasn't too many of those bad lines.

I was disappointed that Red Skull/Hugo Weaving didn't steal every scene he was in. It was almost better and more chilling when he was Johan Schmidt, with the skin mask on. As the Red Skull he was almost a bit cartoonish, like that extreme close up of his face when he's pissed off at his Hydra people, the audience started laughing because it was comical. I really expected Red Skull to come off like Darth Maul, super cool and leaving the audience dying for more, but instead he was just kind of an evil genius that doesn't really explain why he wants to rule the world.

That's all. I still score it 95 out of 100 on the strength of the authentic origin scene (I love the inclusion of the old lady with the passwords and machine gun!) and Chris Evans nailing the role of Steve Rogers. Howling Commandos were cool and the rest of the supporting cast did their jobs well.

Nah, I loved those lines! They weren't corny at all. I would say them.

A friend of mine wanted the Red Skull to steal the show and end up being like Heath Ledger as The Joker. I don't want the Skull to steal every scene he was in because the way I see it I paid to see Captain America, not the Red Skull. I wanted Hugo Weaving to be an awesome, sinister villain but I didn't want anything to take the focus away from Chris Evans/Cap.

I agree with Cap Writer that the supporting cast all did great. I was especially impressed with Stanley Tucci as Doctor Erskine. I think this movie should be nominated for a whole bunch of Academy Awards: Best Actor, Best Director, Best Picture, and Best Supporting Actor (Tucci).

I loved the sound of the sheild. It was brutally perfect.

I saw it my third time the other night with a close buddy. Gotta say, I am not getting tired of this film. I am still amazed at how well Evans captured the heart of Rogers. Not to step on any toes, but I was afraid they would go the Ultimates route and make Steve a hard-a and a pure soldier. So glad Evans went old school and gave him that heart and character that sells me on Cap every time. So great how this turned out, I can nitpick a few things, the nerd in me wants to, but the true fan in me says nah, it's Cap on the screen, live it up.

I agree with you 100%, Pingclang!

As I don't read the Ultimates I don't know much about Ultimate Cap, but I do know that its the Steve Rogers I grew up with that I am a fan of, not Ultimate Cap so that's the one I want to see in the movies. I will say that I am more than satisfied with Evans's portrayal of Captain America.

Stars and Stripes< The Ultimates is good but not great to me. The best Ultimate Cap is his 4 part mini-series with Jason Aaron writing and Ron Garney on the art. He's a great character but seeing as how Steve represents the best of America, I'm glad, for the film, he's not the butthole they made him in Ultimates, lol.

When I was young, Star Wars, ...watching 3 times within a month was great, and can do, you know, young, lots of time, naive, ...and video copies were rare and difficult to get, sooo, watching movies 3-6 times okay then.

Nowadays, with work, family, ... my advice, wait awhile, a week or two or a month, and then go see this movie again.

I like reading your thoughts and feelings, ...and please try NOT TO BE LIKE MOVIE CRITICS.  I listen to them, respect and sometimes enjoy their reviews, but they sometimes get too analytical and elitist in their reviews.
We're fans of Captain America, so give me or others your thoughts and feelings, ...like when we review the books and or toys of Captain America.

That's my next goal is to see in in I-Max. I saw it in standard and again in 3D which was really cool.

You are a step ahead of me, but not for long! Saw the 3D opening nite. Won't get to see the standard version until tonight. I hope that an IMAX version makes it's way around here, or I know I'll being seeing one of the other versions again before Cap goes out of the theaters.
Nice image, by-the-way, love that Jurgens pose. Would be awesome to own the original art.

Caught-up, now, with the 3D and 2D First Avenger versions. Still wish for IMAX, also.
Felt the characterizations for Rogers, Erskine, Phillips, Carter and Red Skull were perfect. Dum-Dum, also. The actors had nailed their parts. The "sibling" rivalry between Cap and Skull made great tension. The sexual tension that developed between Cap and certain females was well handled and had the sublety of a classic old-time movie.
The action scenes with Cap and Howlers destroying Hydra fortresses, Magnifique!

Look forward to owning the Blu-ray - hope it has some tasty extras!

Cap: FA is a great movie for us Cap Fans! I loved it! From visuals to the music (just got the soundtrack yesterday). Chris Evans pulled it off. I had my doubts about him but he was a great Cap/Steve Rogers.
Only thing that bug me was Cap's final costume and why did he crash the bomber in the arctic.I thought the second costume, the one he puts together (and is my avatar) to go rescue the POW's was better. In fact the whole scene from where Cap is drawing himself as a stage monkey to freeing the Howlers caught the spirit of a Cap comic book. Anyway they did a great job and cant wait for The Avengers.
