I'm going to see it for sure. But I have lost a bit of confidence in it though. I saw the SUPER early screening of it at the 2005 (!) Comic Con, and I thought it looked pretty good dispite the fact that there was NOT any special effects done at the time. Then, I would watch the trailers that evolved on the Ghost Rider website and I still thought it looked good. Now, the trailers on TV make it look sort of juvenile and silly. Like the one with "Bad to the Bone" playing during it. Ghost Rider was not a comical book, but the movie sure at least looks like it is. I know Marvel wants as many people to see it as possible so they toned it down so that it could get a PG-13 rating, but I really feel that for some movies that is not the best idea. At least they did not do that with the Punisher. Anyway, I AM going to see it and I hope it does well in the theaters too! I tell you what though, if this movie tanks, Mark Steven Johnson is pretty much f@#4ed! He will never be allowed near another Marvel movie after DD and this (assuming it sucks). (Note, I thought DD was pretty good, but I know it took a lot of criticism).

I'm glad it's got a comical edge. The Bad to the Bone commercial is tough. I might be in a minority, but I'm tired of rated R movies. They go too far with the language and the violence goes past what should be acceptable in a movie. It's almost like Hollywood is trying to create mass murderers or something.
Don't get me wrong violence is great in a movie except when it focuses on suffering or how much blood you can show in a scene. I'm good with Terminator shooting 500 dudes as long they move on to the next scene. These horror movies they have now are sick and twisted focusing on the blood and guts till the viewer becomes hardened to human suffering.

I'm taking the whole family to see Ghost Rider. __________________
I think it's because of the content. Zarathos, Mephisto, etc. It's too bad really, since she knows alot about Ghost Rider simply from playing Ultimate Alliance.
My wife is nuts sometimes. My daughter has seen nearly every super hero movie that I have, and eventually, Ghost Rider will be one of them.
I finally got volume 1 of the Ultimates. Man, what a great read. I feel bad for Cap: "Who's Brad Pitt?" "Who's Bruce Lee?" That was funny. Getting 2 tomorrow. I wish they could have made the movies that way. Wouldn't have been kid friendly I guess __________________

I get it, she's afraid the content might be demonic. I can understand that. I'm hoping it's doesn't come across too far that way myself.
I won't buy the dvd if it's got demonic symbols all through the movie.
There's a lot of cool movies coming out this year kids can watch that I'll be watching like Transformers, Ninja Turtles, Spider-man, Fantastic Four, etc. Probably wait for the dvd for the turtles, but the others I'll have to see in the theatre more than likely. __________________

This through me off at first, because I like the violence in movies, and blood does not really bother me, but the second half of your qoute I agree with. I am not harping the comical sense that Ghost Seems to have, as I said before, it seemed fine to me, but just the lastest trailers makes it looks sort of lame-ish. I just read a qoute from Avi Arad though saying that those trailers are to get the Valentine's couples in the theaters this weekend and it was meant to look like a love story in those trailers. I guess I am just concerned with the business end of these movies because I really want Marvel movies (DC too!)to not only be good, but do well in the box office too. I'm sure that goes for all of us fans.
Back to the violence, since I got a bit off topic, I like Terminator violence too, but not really a horror movie fan. Although, I did think the blood in the Blade TV series was a bit much, but at the same time, I think blood is important in Vampire movies more than anywhere else, since that is their "life blood" so to speak.
Thought The Punisher was just violent enough, but could have had a little bit more fast paced action. I think they will take care of that in the sequel.

I don't quite how to explain it, but one guy fighting another guy in a action movie doesn't bother me a bit.
Some helpless woman on a horror movie getting cut up to pieces disturbs me. I think the horror movie genre is creating disturbed minds out there, and I can't understand where the entertainment value is supposed to be in watching others suffer violent bloody deaths. It's like people are happy to watch others suffer, and I think that's just weird.
Now you take a good action flick where the good guy kicks the bad guy's butt. That's cool. I can even handle gore when it's a monster geting squished to pieces, but I just can't accept people getting cut up to bits.
I think the old school actors like John Wayne and Jimmy Stewart would freak out if they were around to see today's stuff. I bet even Vincent Price would be disturbed.
The one thing I'll never understand is the uproar over cartoon violence in Bugs Bunny cartoons. Nothing wrong with cartoon violence. These guys that complain about that stuff are nowhere when it comes to complaining about the horror movies. __________________

One critic said that after Nic Cage's performance in the Wicker man, he should give back his Academy Award.

I'll probably love it then. Nowadays people are down on anything fun. It's a comic book movie. It ought to be campy, silly, and just plain unbelievable.
As long as it isn't boring and doesn't take forever to get started I'm good because from the commercials looks like it's one action scene after another. I guess I'll see after I watch it tomorrow.
People takes themselves way too seriously nowadays. When are people going to loosen up, and just have good clean fun. Of course I can't say much till I've actually seen the movie, but I guess I'm going on all the negativity towards Daredevil I thought was uncalled for.
That's ok though, if people keep knocking these kinds of movies, Hollywood will stop making superhero flicks and we'll be stuck with boring chick flicks and gruesome horror movies. Well I won't be. I guess I'll just watch my superhero dvd collection over and over again. __________________
And I'll be watching mine, don't forget my Arnold movie collection. We need some good ole shoot'em up action movies. Been kind of a dry spell in that department for a while now.

Saw the Ghost Rider movie, and I would recommend it to the people on this board, however, don't expect big cool Spiderman 2 level action and story. Bad guys were corny and silly (And they're suppose to be Hell's demons and such). Girlfriend was pointless, fights weren't that good, the story was so so, not spectacular and riveting (Or suspenceful).
The good, Nicolas Cage. If it was someone else, the movie would've been like Batman and Robin. He brought a lot of sincerity and charisma to make it worth watching (what was mostly corny materials).
Ghost Rider, cool, racing through the streets, up buildings, smashing thugs and demons.
The stunt show. I just loved that Johnny Blaze motorcycle wipe outs. Reminded me of my childhood watching Evil Keneival.

I thought it totally rocked! I'm all about having fun at the movies. I guess I like corny too. What I can't stand is boring.
I remember the Evil Knevial craze when I was a little kid. I hear that guy stays in major pain now that he's older. __________________
Went to see it Yesterday, not bad at all, rather impressed to be fair, Nic Cage played JB as I imagined him to be, and as for old flamin' bonehead, very good indeed. Great Hellcycle to.

You know I think where comic book movies get into trouble is when the die hard fans of the respective character see the movie and get ticked when everything isn't just like the book. I can relate with Superman Returns. When you are a die hard fan you notice everything. __________________
Tim, That is so true, I am and have been a huge comic book collector for 30 years, and whilst some "adaptations" are better than others, in the main I am just glad to see some of my "heroes" get brought to the big screen. Roll on a mega Cap film!!

My main worry with something like a Cap film is not so much the details, but that they at least get the spirit of the comic right. Like the Spider-man movies didn't get everything just right( Goblin's suit, and the webshooters), but the spirit of the comic was done perfectly onscreen. __________________
