Clint Eastwood was on Fox yesterday and he spoke out on his latest movies and a little on politics. They sort of drug the politics out of him.
I'm thinking it would be neat to have Clint involved in a Captain America movie. I haven't seen the Iwa Jima movie yet, but Clint's always made good movies not counting Million Dollar Baby. That one was way too depressing.
The nice thing about somebody like Clint is on politics you might not agree with him, but his simplistic friendly approach to explaining his view point makes it hard to be very angry. He might have made another Ronald Reagan had he continued to pursue politics. Even when I disagree with him I almost agree with him.
I loved what he said about his main view on politics in general. He said he likes the government basically to leave folks alone. He's got a very down to earth approach to life that must come from his days of doing without when he was younger.
One thing he said that struck my mind. He said that there aren't as many liberals in Hollywood as you might think. It's just that conservative folks by definition are conservative and sort of keep to themselves. They don't run around with signs and all that.
I think Clint would be great at developing the character of Captain America. I think he understands what a patriotic average joe feels. I think he has the type of wisdom needed to make a patriotic character that doesn't instantly irk the leftist leaners of the country. Well the really left will be mad over almost anything including the way you say hello, but you get the idea. __________________
