The above link is a basic description of the game. It's based on the Infinity Gauntlet. I will be Captain America, second-in-command (to General Nick Fury) of the Heroes and SHIELD forces as we battle Thanos, Morg and their Kree underlings for control of the Infinity Gems.

I have to think Cap vs. a Cosmic villain and Cap is at a serious disadvantage. But in paintball....where Cap has a shield and the others don't? Gonna clean up, man!! lol  Enjoy!

Albany Scenario Club is located on US Route 20, half a mile east of downtown Nassau, NY, near the state capitol of Albany.

I'm planning to debut my new, Movie Concept art inspired rig at this event. It's made from motocross armor and reinforced with fiberglass resin and cloth to make it even more durable. I have pics of my W.I.P. in the cosplay thread.

By the way, I'm not the only one who'll be allowed to carry a shield...the Villains' second-in-command, Morg, gets an axe that is roughly the same size as my shield and functions as a shield.

I'll be sure to post pics and video if I can get some from the event. Or at the very least, links to photos and video.

At the end of Saturday's portion of the game (Mephisto, Dr. Doom and Surtur) SHIELD lead the Kree 325-300. After the first Realm Sunday we were up 475-425. After Adam Warlock's realm, the final portion, it was a 525-525 tie. If not for a disputed control point that I personally flipped being negated completely, SHIELD would have won by 25 points. Even though it was "officially" a tie, I still feel like it was a victory for me.

The field operator and writer of the scenario called me "the Best Captain America ever" and that my costume was "perfectly believable" and awarded me the field's own Cap shield which I used the entire game rather than one of my own.

Chances are good that I will return for the 2011 edition of the game to reprise my role as Cap.

Here's a video, taken by one of the Kree players during a small skirmish...no cool costumes or anything but kinda neat regardless..

Trying to find a pic of the tank that was used at this event. It was designated as the Incredible Hulk, on neither team and a threat to everyone. It was ruled that if I could tag it with my shield it would count as a tank kill. Normally, the only other ways are with rocket launchers (they fire the small Nerf footballs with the tail on them) or a paint grenade.

Once I was told I could kill tanks I made it a priority to do just that. During the Dr.Doom realm we heard it coming down the trail we were on. My men scattered, seeking cover in the woods.

I barreled through the woods, jumping over my players when necessary, and emerged directly behind the tank and leaped at it, hitting it with the shield full on.

The referee congratulated me on a sweet move and escorted the tank to respawn as my troops emerged from the woods and congratulated me on the kill.

Totally. It was the first time I had ever played at that field and after just this one vent, I'd have to say it is by far my favorite place I've played. The staff and regular patrons were all super friendly and everyone seemed dedicated to making sure it was as fun as possible. If you're in the upstate NY area (or near the NY MA border), I would definitely suggest checking them out.
