Comic-Con was so big that even I missed many Cap-related items.
I picked up the WWII SDCC Cap exclusive but missed this movie-based Cap. I saw them handing out posters for the Thor movie but completely missed the Cap movie poster. And while I did snap photos of Odin's throne and a Cap movie display at the Marvel booth, I completely missed that they had a Cap shield from the movie on display.
The Marvel booth was ALWAYs crowded so it was easy to miss these things. __________________

I just really want the exclusives from the SDCC. There was a "Camp Lehigh" shirt, a shield lapel pin, the Cap movie poster, and the WW2 Cap figure.

I picked up the poster and figure on EBAY. They were not too expensive. THere are different sizes of the poster, so be careful to specify which one you are looking for. I got the 20 x 13.5. I also saw a 17 x 11 and an 8 x 10. the "Camp Lehigh" shirt looks cool too.

Went to Michael's, it was $9.99 for the 16x20 frame. $7.99 for the mat.

The Thor movie opens the same weekend as Free Comic Book Day.
The Cap movie opens during Comic-Con.
Plan accordingly.
When does the Green Lantern movie open? Next year should be a fun year for comic book movies. __________________

I kinda hate paying for stuff that was free, but i guess it beats waiting in line and flying out there haha. I am so psyched about this movie. Its a dream come true. I have faith that Marvel will do it justice.

I'm gonna be Captain Obvious, here, but I don't see any "changes" present from the concept art. I'd venture to think that if they made the action figure mold, that the costume design is pretty much set in stone?

Yes, I think costume is pretty set. I think the concept art/action figure will be the 3rd version of the suit. It should evolve like this: classic Kirby for USO scenes, a chunky/clunky WWII version that is a blend between Ultimate WWII Cap and this modern-looking action figure, and then the last costume (maybe after he wakes up in modern times) is the final tweak to match what we saw in the leaked concept art and this 3 3/4 action figure.
I'm good with all that. __________________I want a giant penny and a lifesize T-Rex statue in my high tech basement.

Well I wish I was more like all of you who like the costume, but for me, when this comes out I'll just save my bucks. Sorry to say I just don't like it. I will admit it is a creative design.

I have to agree. I think Cap's new costume sucks, but I hope he'll only wear it during the war, and we'll see his traditional costume in The Avengers.

I like the costume. I think its a pretty good take on making Cap look realistic. The only thing that bugs me is the absence of the wings. I mean, there's so much artwork out there that make them work, I'm still thinking it could.

I think the figure looks a little lumpy and I hoped for something more traditional for the movie but I'm holding back from dumping on the movie until I see the final product. If I go into the theater with a lot of chips on my shoulder, I'll probably have a bad time. __________________

Yes folks, I understand that not everyone likes the movie design but please remember that this new movie is NOT the comic book.
The comic books... is what it is.
The movie does come from the same idea as the comics, but it will stand on it's own in the end.
Just go into the theatre with a fresh open mind, and I'm sure you will enjoy the movie.

JamesOnly thanks for showing the photo of your framed poster. I was going to order a custom frame, which can cost a fortune. I'm going to Michaels today to get the frame and matting. What size matting did you get????

I believe it was listed at 16x20 to match the frame, but you see it compensates for like two inches top and bottom and about an inch left and right. I believe it was 7.99 for the mat.
