And even if we weren't....why the heck start a thread about hating a Cap costume in a Cap forum? LOL

Yeah Al.  In a Cap forum only mindless positivity is acceptable.  The 'discussion' in discussion forum shouldn't be taken literally.

ps, the movie costume is the Tits McGee!

Costume haters, take heed:

Dudes, that kick-ass uniform is going to help sell him as Cap SO much. Don't worry too much. Evans was very good in "Street Kings" opposite the bad-cop Keanu Reaves. Evans played the white knight good-cop and sold it well. He was gritty and serious, not all lame like he usually is in romantic comedies. I didn't care for him too much in "The Losers," but I think it was the character and the glasses he wore.

The rest of the cast and the action set pieces will help him along. I just hope that in the character driven scenes and close ups, that we can feel his angst - both as a 90-LB weakling inside an adonis body and as the spirit of Steve Rogers inside of a symbolic uniform that puts the weight of an entire nation on his shoulders.

'Nuff said.

Take reality into hand: What would Cap look like if he wore basically extremely rubber tights on the BIG screen.
Gotta go with what's less embrassing, more army like, plus look and the 90s Cap, didn't work at so well...

Al, dont worry pal, you`re not the only one. Us "crazy" traditional Cap fans all seem to be in agreement on the costume. To me its pretty much like the Batman costumes in Batman and Robin, they may as well put nipples on the chest piece. I hate Batman and even I knew those costumes were awful and looks like we`re getting another dose of it here in the Cap film. Of course, im just a weid-o acting out my childhood, even though I started reading Cap when I was 22...4 years ago.

I don't like the way it looks, but I hope it sells the movie at least, there's more then one costume in the movie or so I've read on the sneak peek sites.
I can see it from two points of view......
On one side at least it will give Cap a good showing and put it in the minds eye of the populace and it will lead to more movies in the future.
On the other side "what were they thinking, its not like there's no great examples of Caps costume out there, I wished they used the regular stars and strips outfit for both WW2 and the 21st century, I would even be satisfied with and all Ultimate Cap costume run, but to totally disregard the original design of Caps uniform/armor is an insult to Jack Kirby, and his vision. Captain America deserves better then a Hollywood hyped up version of an American hero icon. the costume designers and researchers should be ashamed.
The only thing that can be done it change Caps outfit in the next movie, The Avengers should be great as long as Cap's is in proper uniform...
Its true what they say "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".....
